Eiji remembered his encounter with the Greeed, back when he met the original OOO. They didn't seem that bad, but... "Why me?" Eiji asked.

"Because OOO and the Greeed are natural enemies," he stated simply, calmly, "Yet the other OOO seems to have forgotten this! Both you and the Greeed were born; but only one of you deserves to remain. The Greeed have single desires, and as such, the human is the one to survive; as humans have many, many more desires."
