"Probably is" Clive said standing up and pacing up and down, "I am the person with the most amount of darkness in my heart...that is before I met you so I guess I'll need all the help I can get before I confront Azrael...no doubt he'll be the one to twist the darkness in me" Clive said already strategising how he was going to beat Azrael.

"That's one thing about the Light...it may be strong in one person...but through the powerful emotions and bonds between comrades and friends...it becomes so much more powerful." "But is he more than a friend to me." was an underlying question in Rei's mind that she ignored for the moment.

"Friends...bonds...comrades" Clive muttered drinking some water, "I don't think I have lots of them Rei...I've been lying and deceiving my friends ever since I became the Earl and I don't think they're willing to forgive me once all of this is over...even the few friends I have are nothing more than mutual present company excepted of course" Clive sighed and kicked some dirt away, "I really do think I'm going to be alone in the end" he said with a sad tone.

Clive gave a sad smile and put his hand on top of hers, "Thank you Rei...you're the only thing that brought me back to the darkness, I can't lose you now" he said.

"You're not alone." she said before slipping her hand out of hers and snaking her arms around his stomach instead, putting her head on his shoulder to look up at the stars, "Pretty view, isn't it?" she asked.

Clive blushed for a moment before nodding, "It is Rei...its times like these that I wished that I was normal...at least as normal as a magician...that I never became Judgement and I still had Elizabeth with me."

This hurt Rei just a little but she said nothing, just nodding a bit and enjoying the hug she was giving him instead, "True...sometimes I wonder how my life would have gone if I wasn't chosen...but it probably would have been boring."

Clive chuckled, "True...it would've been boring if I didn't become a double-agent" he said with no sarcasm in his tone...but a genuine tone, "and...I wouldn't have been able to meet you Rei" he said softly.

Clive could feel the intake of breath a bit as she paused for a moment. "Eh...?" she said softly...feeling that his statement was true but surprised at the same time.

Rei blushed at his kiss...before turning him to face her and kissing him back on the opposite cheek. "You're welcome." she said softly after pulling away...usually modest...but not this time..
