"Thanks Rei...I'm starved" Clive said as he realised that he hadn't really brought anything with him in his bid to escape from Azrael's sight, "it sure is peaceful out here...well at least until that thing showed up."

"The peace has been restored...and I couldn't think of better company to share it with." Rei said, taking out some ingredients and utensils from her survival bag and starting to cook..

As Clive waited for the food to cook he asked something that he had been meaning to ask for a long time though he was afraid of the answer, "Hey Rei...was there ever a time that you doubted that I could ever break free from the darkness?" he asked Rei.

"No. I only worried about the consequences of you choosing to be consumed by it...but I had faith that the Light would win out in the end." Rei said, continuing to cook.

"Why did you have so much faith in me? When even I myself had almost no faith in ever breaking free?" Clive asked in a curious tone.

"It's not something that's easy to explain...I just knew. Maybe it was my intuition...or the insight of the Light within me. But I just knew." Rei replied.

"Whatever it is...thank you Rei...without you I would still be drowning in my fury and I would've easily destroyed the world along with myself" Clive said, "I owe everything to you...I can never repay that...not ever."

"That's a debt I will never ask you to repay, Clive-kun." Rei said, "I only showed you another way out...one without the darkness...and you took it."

"Still...I'm still indebted to you Rei...I'll work hard to make sure that the darkness never reemerges though it'll be a difficult trial but I think I've gotten the hang of it" Clive said.

Rei was getting closer to being done with her cooking for both of them, "I'm just satisfied that you're following a new and better path that will benefit you." she said, being very modest about the whole indebted thing.

Clive chuckled, "Okay...I won't let you down Rei, just know that."

"Thank you." Rei said, finishing up the food. "Okay it's done...its not the finest cuisine ever but it is some well done steak and potatoes...sure you get meals ready to eat but I like to make my own...makes it feel more unique."

"I'm not picky about my foods" Clive said as he took a bite out of his food, "wow this...this tastes great."

"I'm glad you like it." Rei said, crossing her long legs under her as she ate as well. "Do you believe in fate?" she asked quietly.

Clive looked at the sky and yawned, "Fate...destiny...what does it all mean? I don't believe in Fate...I never had even when I have two spirits of Light and Dark within me, I think that men can alter their own destiny and that their path isn't set for them and that they can change it for the better" he said.
