12? I think a season is 12. Christmas special doesn't matter.

Only? But they're an hour long or so, right?

45 minutes about, the first episode of Series 5 being a bit longer, along with the finale, I think.

Most episodes are 45 minutes long, the series 5 premier was 65. Series 5 is pretty good because it's a whole new cast and you don't need all the backstory so it's a good starting point. But earlier pre-cancellation episodes are good too, City Of Death was very funny and Tomb Of The Cybermen was epic in so many ways.

Right. Today is going to be my official start, considering it's the holidays.
Anyone know where I can watch online?

Life, Combom and Doctor Who; Google that and you can find a site where I watch them as they air. He should have the older ones up yet.

Damn, that sucks. Episode 5 isn't all that, but if you've already seen 4.

Okay. Right, quick lesson, here in the UK "series" is our way of saying "season". In most instances "Season 1" of Doctor Who is William Hartnell's first group of episodes while "Series 1" is Christopher Eccleston and the start of the 2005 revival.
This site seems to be using Season 1 as series 1 though.
