Shane at this point had finished his meditation, and had launched into another set of his hand to hand katas. Normally he would have been crashin and having a good time, but he didn't have anyone he knew to back him up, and he didn't want to impose.

Shane was currently in the middle of a sword kata, doing the moves with a live blade, and not a bokken, or wooden stick.

Shane slid his sword into the sheath, his back to Kaoru before he turned around to see Kaoru watching him, his eyes meeting hers..

Kaoru felt her chest tighten up for a moment. She didn't say anything about it, though, as she spoke to Shane. "Shane, we need you to explain some things," she told him.

"I have no idea what those machines were, they weren't Gedoushuu or the ones I fight. They're the unknown variable that is against us." Shane said, patiently standing in the afternoon sunlight and answering Kaoru's question.
