In the vast reaches of space, a war was being waged. Unlike most wars, where it was two armies going against each other, there was only a single starship fighting against a large army of warships.
"Are they stupid or something?" the woman inside the cockpit of the small starship asked to herself. "This ship's one of the fastest in the universe, and they're still trying to hit me!" She then shook her head as she took out two warships. "Well, points for trying. However, they're not showy enough." She then took out three more, the warships going down in balls of fire. "Take that!" she said, not noticing that her sensors were picking up another ship exiting hyperspace behind her.
A mistake most costly.
The Warship that had appeared behind the much smaller ship had its main cannons ready to fire, and before the woman could so much as turn around, her ship was shot at, taking several hits; coming from a warship, one good hit would take it out, along with her.
"Damn... So close..." she said. Then she noticed a gray portal appear beneath her ship. "Or maybe not... Just what I was waiting for..." She then sped her ship straight down toward the portal, using what little energy her ship had left. She didn't see the warship fire one last shot at the ship's tail. The shot hit just before she crossed the portal. It wasn't long after the ship made it to the other world before the it exploded, leaving two fireballs trailing down toward two different locations...
Tsukasa Kadoya was sitting in the darkroom, waiting for his photos to develop. They were taking an abnormally long time to develop, which is something that had him worried. "Mou..." he said, drumming his fingers on the table he was sitting at. "When are these going to be finished?!" he shouted, loud enough for the entire studio to hear him.
