Morpher /Sequence: She takes out her Transformation Handheld Shodophone and transforms it into Brush Mode. With a call of "Ippitsu sōjō!", she writes the Kanji for fire in the air in front of her. The kanji then appears in front of her face as well as behind her. The one behind her forms her suit, while the Shinkenmaru appears on her waist. The remaining kanji forms the helmet. She then proclaims "ShinkenRed! Kaoru Shiba!"
Description of Ranger Form: (Hime) ShinkenRed
Other Modes:
- Super ShinkenRed - By combining the InrouMaru with her Shinkenmaru, she can transform into her Super Shinkenger form, which gives her enhanced power levels. However, there is only one Inroumaru, so only one Shinkenger can use it at a time.
- Hyper ShinkenRed - Kaoru can obtain this form by weilding the Kyoyoumaru (the weapon held by the first ShinkenRed). It is stronger than the Super Shinkenger form, and gives her unparalled reach and striking power. However, much like the Inroumaru, there is only one Kyoyoumaru, so only one Shinkenger can use it at a time.
Weapons:
- Secret Playback Katana Shinkenmaru - the sole sidearm for the core Shinkengers. is first activated by taking any of the Secret Disks from the buckle on the Shinkengers' belts and attaching it to the hilt to become the guard. By spinning that Secret Disk, the Shinkenmaru acts as a praxinoscope and it powers up depending on the disk itself. By spinning the Common Secret Disks fast enough, the Shinkenmaru transforms into the Shinkengers' signature weapon.
The Shinkenmaru is most commonly used as its design implies, but is also used to control the Origami, and summon several of them. The sword's handle is sized to allow a Hiden Disc to be attached at the hilt, allowing for a multitude of possibilities, from elemental attacks by using an Origami Disc to controlling ShinkenOh using the Hiden Shield Disc. Using a personal Secret Disk allows a Shinkenger to execute a Spiral Sword attack depending on the element that the disk represents. The five Spiral Sword elemental attacks can be used in the Quintuple Sword and the Five-Colored Dance attack. The four Spiral Sword elemental attacks can be used in the Four Continual Slash and the Quadruple Sword attack. With Skinken Gold, the can execute the Six Continual Slash and the Six Elements Slash. - Two-Mode Transforming Rekka Daizanto - ShinkenRed's personal weapon, shaped like an armored zanbato. Its immense size also allows for use a shield against some attacks, and its power has (on at least one occasion) been shown to be enough to cut through one of its own blast-attacks sent back at it.
In its default zanbato-like Daizantou Mode by using the Shishi Disc, Shinken Red can perform the Many Fires Profusion attack.
By inserting an alternate disk, the Rekka Daizanto can assume a gun-like Ōzutsu Mode, where the Shinkengers would load their personal Origami Discs into the Rekka Daizanto for the Rings Bullet finisher, the name changing for what Origami Disc they are using and how many Discs are loaded into the Rekka Daizanto.
Using the Kabuto Disc, the Shinkengers can perform the Kabuto Five Rings Bullet; the Kajiki Five Rings Bullet with the Kajiki Disk; the Tora Five Rings Bullet with the Tora Disk; and the Ika Five Rings Bullet with the Ika Disk. When using her retainer's personal disk (The Double Hiden Disk), she can dual-weild this weapon. - Secret Loading Gun Mougyu Bazooka - An Ushi Origami-shaped weapon developed by Hiro. It is powered by the Final Mysterious Disc.
It can be combined with the Super Shinkenmaru to form the Super Mougyu Bazooka, allowing to execute the Heretic Ruination finishing attack. It can be enlarged with the kanji for "big" to use it as a weapon for MouGyuuDaiOh.
Zord:
- Shishi Origami - ShinkenRed's primary Origami that forms the head and main body of ShinkenOh. It's Emblem Form is an irregular pentagon. In battle, the Shishi Origami charges at the enemy to execute its Pentagon Grand Blaze attack.
- Samurai Gattai ShinkenOh - is formed when the Shinkengers write the kanji for "unite" to make their Origami to combine. It is armed with the Daishinken and a giant Secret Disk that doubles as the Secret Shield. The Shishi Origami head on its chest can breathe fire in the Lion's Blaze Roar attack, takes to the air with the Dragon Rising Le, and separate from the Kame Origami to execute the Turtle Heavenly Fist. Both of ShinkenOh's arms can also fold back up to unleash a beam attack. Its finishing attack is the Daishinken Samurai Slash. It can combine the four support Origami by performing Samurai Armaments. Once assembled, the core members of the Shinkengers exclaim, "ShinkenOh, united under providence".
Inside Stuff
Personality: Kaoru is very kind making it relatively easy to work with her, though she tends to holds her emotions back. She dislikes arrogance though, and will not hesitate to hit any arrogant man with a rather large paper fan she carries. She was the reason why the Shiba house has a ShinkenGold in its ranks, despite disapproval from the non-Shinken's in the family. However, she still has regret over not being able to failing to seal a powerful Gedoshu, and easily lets it get to her, sometimes causing her to lower her guard when in battle. Despite this, she still remains a capable leader of the Samurai Sentai Shinkenger.
Strengths:
- Her training allows her to easily weild all the Shinkenger's weapons.
- Is very cool-headed in battle.
- Trusts her vassals, to the point where she will refer to them as friends.
Weaknesses:
- Easily lets failure get to her. (This is sometimes played for laughs with minor failures, and played for drama with major ones)
- Will put her own life on the line if it saves one of her vassals.
- Can be very hard for her to tell what's going on with her because she holds her emotions back.
History: The 18th head of the Shiba house, she only ascended a few years ago; this was because her father, the previous head of the Shiba House, was killed before she was born, hence they had someone else to act in her stead. She returned at the age of 17, taking on the mantle of ShinkenRed and leading her teammates into battle against the Gedoshu. However, she temporarily stepped down as head of the clan after failing to seal Dokoku. After several months, she returned to the post of Shiba House leader, with a new group of vassals to support her as the Shinkenger.
She later appeared before the Gokaiger, and wanted to see if they were worthy of the Shinkenger keys. She eventually accepted them after seeing the faith they had in each other, allowing them to obtain the team's grand power. At present, she continues to fight the Gedoushu as well as anyone that dare threatens the world, as is the duty of the Shiba house and a Ranger.
Anything Else: Sanyu, here! As a side note, Kaoru will usually try to shrug off any talk of marriage.
Sample RP: Kaoru sat in the main room of the Shiba House, awaiting the new ShinkenGold's arrival. She had recieved news that her training had been completed, and that she would be coming to the Shiba House at any moment. So she wouldn't be caught off guard, she decided to sit in the main hall in preparation for her arrival.
Several hours later (2:00 PM, to be exact), Kasumi walked into the room, where she noticed Kaoru. "Hey... You're not the head of the Shiba House," she said. "Last time I was here, it was a guy in charge."
Kaoru looked at her for a second before she spoke. "I am Kaoru Shiba, eightteenth head of the Shiba House. The man you met was my stand-in until I could assume the role as head of the Shiba House.
"...Okay," she said, not fully convinced. "Anyway, I have finished my training, so I was wondering if I could properly serve under the current head."
"If you prove yourself worthy enough," Kaoru said standing up and smirking a little. She quickly drew Shinkenmaru and charged at Kasumi, who drew Sakanamaru and blocked it with ease.
"...Eightteenth head?" Kasumi asked. "I can believe that."
"I'm glad you do," Kaoru replied cooly. However, she had a feeling that Gold's replacement was going to be a handful.
