Figured this was a good idea, and we don't have one, as far as I know.
I'm currently reading "A Clash of Kings" by George R. R. Martin, the second book of "A Song of Ice and Fire", while also reading the "Sword of Truth" series again, by Terry Goodkind, on the third book, "Blood of the Fold".
Anyway, I'm also looking for a good Star Wars war book, like Clone Wars or Galactic Civil War (been playing Battlefront again, and I love the war stuff of the SoT series), any suggestions?

Apparently there's a series of books based off of the Republic Commando games.
Anyway, as of this morning I've been reading this book of short stories by H.P Lovecraft but so far I've only just finished Damon. I have loads of other books lying around that I'm varying degree's through. The first two Being Human books which are on a shelf somewhere, Snakehead (Only a chapter in, I thought that Ark Angel ended the Alex Rider series in a suitably epic way), Night Rise and I promised a friend I'd start reading Sugar Rush.
On a similar note, the first book I ever read was Hop On Pop when I was five =P

I have the original (?) Republic Commando, but have yet to beat it, so I'm going to hold off on that.
I've been looking for Lovecraft on and off for years with no success.

No, Scorpia Rising ends the AR series. Not as epic as some of the others, though. The start's quite bland.

Scorpia Rising? You mean there's a book after Crocodile Tears?
For anyone who doesn't know the Alex Rider series is about a fourteen year old MI6 agent called Alex Rider. It's actually a fairly realistic portrayal because the secret service are using him like any other agent, people have no qualms about killing or maiming him and he's getting a terrible deal. Would recommend the first five (Stormbreaker, Point Blanc, Skeleton Key, Eagle Strike, SCORPIA) definitely because you can choose to end it there, Ark Angel (Book 6) while awesome is a little excessive.

Scorpia Rising came out this year and is the official conclusion to the series. Quite epic, I'm still scared to be around salt xD But yes, the first five were the best. Ark Angel was alright and Crocodile Tears was mehish.

I loved and still love the idea of SCORPIA, especially their Invisible Sword super-weapon and the briefcase full of Scorpions.

I've been rereading some of my older Sci-Fi books, mainly the Ender's Game trilogy by Orson Scott Card (The Ender's Shadow books are blasphemy) and the Uplift Wars by David Brin.
The only recent books I've been following with any interest have been the Dresden Files series by Jim Butcher and the Ring of Fire (also known as 1632) series by Eric Flint.

Invisible Sword was awesome, but I don't like how they used a a lukewarm chemical symbol o/co2 roughly spherical air container (~Crypitism~) to activate it. Kinda random.
And in Scorpia's final chance to turn things around, everything goes wrong with a box of ciggarettes containing their logo.

My sister's borrowed Sugar Rush so I don't think I'll be reading it till she's finished. Which is odd because my sister doesn't read ...
Anyway, I just remembered these books I really liked when I was about 8 or 9; Vernon Bright. They were about this 14 year old mad scientist and his best friend there were four, one where he turns himself magnetic, one where they break time, one where they steal stuff from Area 51 and nearly destroy the world and Vernon Bright and Frankenstein's Hamster.
THEY WERE AWESOME! And I am keeping them for my own children =D

The Hunger Games.
The first was the best though, from there it slowly derailed.
At any rate, amazing series, even if the last was a let-down.

I'd say my favorite series of books is DUNE, especially the prequels by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson. One of the top if not the top science fiction in terms of making things futuristic yet believable.

I've been meaning to read some of Iain M. Banks's stuff. My Dad really likes his stuff so I can probably borrow some off of him. And I've read some of his Iain Banks stuff (The non-sci fi stories)

Finished "A Clash of Kings" and loved it, working on "Blood of the Fold" again in the Sword of Truth series.

Loving the book of HP Lovecraft stuff even though I'm fairly sure he was bad at descriptions rather than wanting to be scary. It's effective though, kinda creeped out by some of the stories.
