"Get up," *cough* "Oh ewwww," "Gross," "I said get up!"
The kid, about 18, 19, pulled Ezekiel to his feet and shook him. That was the point where Ezekiel turned his head into the biggest ball of fuzziness he could see. There was a lot of gasping and someone asking "What the Hell's wrong with his eyes!?"
Then he heard more coughing. ---
Okay. He needed to stop thinking. Look to the future! Look ahead! Ezekiel sighed, he was sitting in some Canadian coffee shop by the window with sunglasses, a newspaper and a polystyrene cup filled with scalding hot coffee ...

The outdoorswoman walked into the coffee shop, having come there for something to drink before the long trip back to Japan. After placing her order, she paused for a moment, looking around the shop...

Ezekiel looked up at the new comer out of that usual human response of "Ooh something interesting" and then almost instantly hunched back over his paper. That bloody woman from before! Great. He took a sip of coffee to try and make him seem norma- "Ah! Jesus Christ that's hot!" He yelled, pulling it away from his tongue.

The woman looked at him, "You should have let it cool first..." she said, crossing her arms. "Though perhaps you could cool that off outside."

"You seem on edge ..." Ezekiel said, not making eye contact, not even looking in her direction "It's just a cup of coffee ..."

"You have to be careful with it all the same." Rei replied, ignoring his comment about being on edge

"Look," Ezekiel sighed "I'm not going to kill someone or rob the place o-or something I just like coffee, okay?" He looked back to the newspaper and swore as he saw the tiny little article.

"I didn't say you were going to do any of that." Rei replied, having her arms crossed, before lowering her voice, "You're afraid...aren't you." It wasn't a question...more like a statement.

"No, I'm perfectly fine," He snapped quietly "I'm a home to the most lethal disease since the black death, I've been drafted in by angels, and I almost killed a fourteen year old girl, I'm fine,"

"You're not fine. You just don't want to admit it. Your pride won't let you...though how you could have any pride in the things that you've mentioned is beyond me." Rei said looking at him quietly.

Ezekiel paused, put his coffee down and got up. "I was being sarcastic," He said "You don't even know me and you think you already have a good impression of who I am? I don't need to listen to this," He pushed past her and walked into the street.

"Prove me wrong then." She said, following him out. "I'm not here to fight you. If I wanted to, we'd already be exchanging blows...I just want to talk."

Ezekiel stopped and whirled around. "Fine! What do you want to talk about!?" He snapped.

Rei looked him in the eyes, her eyes being the window of a radiant soul of Light as she spoke, "About the Light that lingers within you. That is why you cured that Ranger..that is why you helped contribute towards the saving of that city. Would you believe me to be wrong? You know who I am...and you cannot fool me." "And you can't intimidate me, either." she finished that sentence in her mind.

"... I-I have a job to do," He said "God's w-work ..." He paused and looked away from her and started to walk off "... or some-something?"[/b]
