Personality: Jerome is a fairly quiet and reserved man with many demons plaguing him. He saw a lot of murder, a lot of death and carnage during his time as a homicide detective, and that seems to have really affected him, making him a quiet man who keeps everything bottled up. He believes in lawful and unlawful, not right and wrong. He couldn’t care less about right and wrong, after everything he’s seen. Why should some go to prison while others don’t? Why should some have died when others didn’t? Right and wrong blurred, leaving only the law for him to follow and carry himself by.
He turned to drinking after a few years on the job, becoming a heavy drinker, coming to work drunk a few times. He loves whisky, and that’s his main drink. He has a lot of confidence in himself, so he doesn’t really care what others think of him. He knows he’s smart, gifted in combat, a meticulous thinker and worker who can wrap his mind around many different cases from points of view that few others can see. However, even with his mental abilities, he was let go due to his occasional appearing on the job drunk. He has no regrets, and simply moved on.
He can speak English, Japanese and French, and can play most instruments such as the piano, violin and flute, primarily.
Strengths:
- No remorse, no regrets
- A powerful mind for almost any situation
- Latent combat abilities
Weaknesses:
- Does whatever he has to without thinking about consequences; kind of brash
- Drinks a lot
- Boredom sets in easily for him, so he fights
History: Jerome started out with a mediocre past and family, average at best through his whole life. When he turned twenty two, he went to join the police simply because he could. Underneath his average persona, he was brilliant and skilled in a variety of things, such as combat and mind games, as well as being able to quickly pick up musical instruments and other languages.
He rose through the ranks and became a detective/DI (whatever) in London. He saw a lot of murders, a lot of death in his time, and tried his best to solve everything, to get peace for everyone he could, for the families. He started to see too much, take on too many cases at once, and soon became swallowed by the work, losing it. What could he do but turn to alcohol to drown out what he had seen? So he did that, and started drinking a lot more than he should have been, often going to the River Thames to just stare out at the waters while he tried to sober up to go to work. Often he went in drunk, but hid it.
Eventually he started to drink too much, and it got the best of him. His superiors found out, and gave him a final warning. He kept drinking anyway and coming in, doing his best to sober up. Sometimes he still hid it, sometimes he sobered up, but then he got caught and was relieved of his job. He wandered around for a while, looking for work, but word had spread to other departments, and he was barred from working for other police departments or anything similar.
Eventually, as he drowned his woes at a bar, a member of SHOCKER found him and brought him in, becoming his handler. They had recently lost Rider 1/Kiriha, and wanted him back. They forced Jerome into recruitment, transforming him into Hopper 2; Rider 2, all in order to capture Rider 1, or kill him. Now as a SHOCKER soldier, Jerome willingly fought against Rider 1, and anyone else in his way.
Anything Else: Played by Ren.
Sample RP:
He stood at the River Thames, looking out into the night, in the cold, at the river below.
“Are you alright? Sir?”
He turned around to see an officer walking towards him. He nodded, “Yeah, I’m fine,” Jerome said.
“It’s three AM,” the officer said.
“I’m in homicide,” Jerome told him.
“Your superiors?” he questioned.
“Moore and Jameson,” Jerome said.
The officer nodded, “Ok…why are you here?”
Jerome continued to look into the ocean, “I’m trying to sober up. I’m not fit to drive,” his car was parked a while back.
“I could give you a ride,” the officer offered, “My partner can take our car back.”
“No…I’d rather stay here and sober up alone,” Jerome said, “As always.”
The officer watched him for a bit, then walked off, leaving Jerome alone, staring out into the cold, dark River Thames as usual. Alone.
