Sooooo, I just read through the past messages in the Cbox and it seems that while I was gone we got into a little debate about keeping characters. So I have an idea:
If you've claimed a canon character, and you leave for more than two or three months without telling anyone you've gone then we'll repossess your character and put them back up fro grabs. If you return later and your character hasn't been taken then go ahead and keep playing, if it has been claimed then ... oops, sorry.
Obviously there'd be no need to extend this rule to original characters. Sound alright?

Works for me, though I'm still completely against the idea, but that's just me.

I'll agree to that as well.

Alternatively we could put characters "up for adoption". But that's impractical without breaking the law to find out their passwords.

Just as a suggestion if you have access to the e-mails used to make the accounts you could send out warning e-mails that the character may be repossed if they do not return within X amount of time.

Okay, I should also say something like "If you don't want to come back then log on, PM me your username and password and I can put your character up for adoption".
By "adoption" I mean let other people pick up characters who are unloved and give them a good home.
