That was the main problem I had with Kiva. If Aozara are so good at hunting Fangire why didn't they kill more of them? I mean Ryo/Spider Fangire (much as I love him) managed to survive for half the series which is basically 22 years despite going up against both incarnations of Aozara.
It was frustrating.

I have to wonder if those whips in the past and guns in the future are specifically built to kill Fangire, or if they're just actual steel, or something, and it's like Gotou in OOO fighting Greeed and Yummies with a shotgun.

What I find weird about Aozara's weapons is how ascetically different they are to IXA. They were very pretty (both in design and how they were used), while IXA didn't look anything like them.

I want to disagree, on the 2008 side, anyway.
In the 80's, IXA, with its problems, like the smoke coming from it and stuff, felt blocky, even though it wasn't. It just felt sluggish, blocky, very armor like, as opposed to the sleeker whip/daggers that were being used. However, on the 2008 side, when IXA was perfected, it felt sleeker, less like armor and more like a suit, while they had the new sleek/silver guns, which are sleek in design.

Three episodes and the movie left; I'll finish the last three tonight. Kiva has been an amazing series so far, with very few complaints, other than the aforementioned Fangire survival through 22 years. I'm wondering about the incarnations of the Checkmate Four. One character mentioned that they would return eventually (Rook?), and he died in both timelines. So, do their powers reincarnate over time? I was wondering about Queen, until we see that Maya actually loses her powers. And I believe King returns for the finale, based on what I've read, but I don't know if he died in the past or not.
Could the others "reincarnate" like this, to account for some coming back? Based on that one that revived a few to attack Maya, though, I'm doubting it.
What I'm hating right now is the time travel stuff. It was fine for Nago, since it made sense, but I hate it with Wataru helping Otoya against King in the past. I would rather have the two stories be separate, and now paradoxical like this. I would rather have self-contained storylines between both eras, both sides dealing with King on their own.
Ixa is a beautiful suit, though, I just need to say that. I don't care for Rising, but the Ixa suit in its original, "sealed" form is beautiful with the helmet, but when it opens, less beautiful, but still, beautiful. The belt is another question, though, with all the Knuckle stealing...but I can let that slide.

Just watched the new OOO.
When will the UFDA references end?
First the UFDA steals Ichigo so they take R5... Who Gattais a Drill and a Crane (This was earlier). And now they take someone away in a bleeding 'Kawaida' (Core Aider).

I didn't think of that. Love it in hindsight.

Whenever I see Birth Day I can't help but think "Bouken Gattai".

Never saw Boukenger, but I can see that.
Finished the Kiva movie (King of Hell's Castle, not watching the Den-O movie(s?)), disappointed that I apparently didn't have the director's cut, which shows the full Arc/Kiva fight, where Arc uses a trident, or so TVTropes says. The torrent even said Director's Cut in the title, and in the movie title.
Movie was good, loved Rey and his actor. He suited that role more than Taiga, I thought. Loved seeing Otoya losing Ixa's helmet and fighting that way for a bit, the double Ixa, the Legendora were interesting as well. Didn't quite get Kiva Flight Form, but that didn't bother me.
Next is Timeranger, then Kabuto.

As I mentioned on the introduction thread I've never really watched any Kamen Rider but I am interested in it. Which series would be a good place to start and where is a good site for subs?

The movie of 555 is great but the series proper ... =/

I love the dramatic storylines of series (Gekiranger...), and apparently 555 had that...but it took me one dozen episodes (maybe 11...) to realize that it was a terrible series. It's boring. Simply put. You may enjoy it, but I hated it. It could have been the Orphnoch designs, which are all white/gray and just fairly ugly for the most part.
I would definitely say W or Kiva.

Kiva turned me off more than 555 =/
[Actually, watch Decade first. That way, when you get to the other series, you won't be as disapointed.]
