And that helped. That smile. It was nice to have these people who were nice to her, whom she might call a friend. There were others in the school, yes. Hikaru was a friend. Yui had said that, but...she wasn't sure. They hadn't spent any time together after that first day, after all...
Miyuki...no. No, she couldn't think about her.
Kari was a help. She was helping to forget about Miyuki, and that pain that would always sting at her heart. She got into the car.

Kari jumped up and over Katsu, landing squarely in the driver's seat, with a little grin on her face. She fastened the belt.

Kari didn't explain it either, starting the car and easing it out on the road. She was apparently a good driver. "Where to?" she asked, at the next stoplight.

She would give directions if the latter.
