History
Hongo was once a regular human being. During his lifetime, he tried his hand at teaching biology at a school, but that ended in failure after a lot of the students tried to hit on him, and he had to leave. Instead, he took a job at Dev Labs as a biologist, where he was comfortable. Until he found out the truth; Dev Labs was nothing more than a front for Shocker.
In anguish, Hongo attempted to get the truth out, but it fell on deaf ears, mostly. Out of his workplace, he rallied a group known as the "Anti-Dev Group" and dedicated himself to revealing the true cause of Shocker's involvement in Dev Labs. His crusade was unfortunately, called to a halt when Shocker captured him and froze him in cryogenic suspension.
Years later, Hongo awoke, amid the ruins of the Vector base, seeking answers desperately, and coming to grips with some "additions" Shocker had made while he was kept under.

"There will be others like me!" Hongo shouted as he was forced into the tube. "And someday, they will triumph!"
"For now, they will all fall." Great Leader sneered as the tube closed around Hongo, freezing him solid. "Such is the will of Shocker."
