It had been almost two months since Miyuki had left Rose's place to find a new purpose in life... Unfortunately, she had no idea what exactly she needed to do, so she spent most of that time living out on the streets... however, with each passing day, she felt things getting more and more hopeless, and today would be the day where she'd finally end it. So she trudged on, covered in more dirt and grime than she was before, her hair nearly reaching her waist, heading for the highest building she could find.

Rose was alone in the same area, in her full Makai Knight gear, hunting a Horror. But unfortunately for Miyuki, the Horror could sense her despair...

Miyuki saw a stairway to a roof, and she slowly began to climb up it.

Miyuki eventually reached the roof, and looked down at where she was going to land. Not that she'd feel it when she did.

The Horror jumped up and onto the roof, while Rose kicked off and slashed twin holes in the air, transforming to Makai Knight ZERO and jumping up as well. The Horror darted for Miyuki, blade extended, and the roof's material creaked and groaned under the skidding of the Knight's boots as she came to a stop in front of the Horror, protecting Miyuki and blocking the strike.

Miyuki heard something behind her, and turned around. "Rose?" she asked.

"Yeah. You weren't going to jump, were you?" Rose said from underneath the helmet, pushing back on the blade, kicking the Horror in the side, and then kicking his weapon up in the air with a well placed knee. A third kick as her leg was angled up in the air sent the Horror to the ground, his weapon landing nearby.

"Don't." Rose said, turning around, her back to the Horror, who got up and picked up his blade, but his slashes at her back would be parried expertly by her. "Don't do it Miyuki, your time hasn't come yet."

"My time hasn't come?" Miyuki asked, turning to face her. "There isn't a place for me in this world! When you rescued me a couple of months ago, I was already living on borrowed time as it was!"

"Trust me..." Rose said, still blocking and parrying strikes, about 45 seconds left on her armor, "You'll find a reason to keep going....but that reason will never show itself to you if you die."
