So a couple of us here are into Tabletop Roleplaying Games like GURPS or Dungeons & Dragons, who wants to talk about them? We can talk about LARPing and CCG's as well. So I want to get me and my friends into Roleplaying, and I've been trying for a while. At the moment I want to start the plot off in a similar way to the Seven Samurai/ Magnificent Seven. The group is taken in to defend a small unarmed town from bandits. But the bandits aren't all they seem, and the town has a dark secret that the bandits want to get their hands on! We're using the Microlite20 system which is very, very simple it's basically Dungeons And Dragons but condensed into a couple of A4 sheets of paper. At the moment the party consists of: - Elrysior, a Half-Elven Paladin who's a little "Neutral" on the rules.
- Freya, a teenaged halfling Bard.
- Thora, the teams young halfling rogue.
- Paul, a gnome ranger whose "28 ... ish" years old.

I think I may have an addiction to Tabletop RPGs because I play so many. I'll try and list them along with my characters. - Drallig, a jesting Eladrin Wizard of the Spiral Tower
Rogue Trader
- Cin, the most badass Eldar pirate in the galaxy
Anima
- Kadaj, a human with an artificial arm and a double-bladed sword
Lorien Trust, which is a big LARPing community
- Drallig, a comedic sea trader who knows magic.

I have to ask, what's LARPing?

It's short for Live Action Role Play. Essentially, players get up in costume and act things out. It's the geekiest thing anyone can do.

I've actually been considering getting into these for a while. Are there any websites anyone knows about where I could do this for free, or would I have to try and find a real-life group?

LARPing or Tabletop games?
I think that there's a good few sites online that'll let you play over IM or something. If you have to find a real-life group then I suggest either: A) Get your friends. B) Go to a gaming store and see whether they have leaflets or posters stuck up on the walls about it.

Well, going to tabletops for a second, I actually finished up a pretty awesome, if short, campaign. We were using D&D 3.5 in the Eberron setting, and I was playing as my third-ever D&D character: Hana, the Chaotic Good Changeling Cleric of the Soverign Host who has a serious flat-chest complex. She was pretty much the comic relief of the entire game.

One of my friends has just given me his character: Socrates the 603 year old Elven Magi (Sorcerer)
So I think I'm ready to do this, but the problem is I haven't DM'd before ... ever ... any advice?

I just re-found The Link where I got my microlite pdf's. It's a big, big, biiiiiiig pdf but it's 99.6% optional rules that can easily be taken in or out and a few other campaign ideas (Star Wars, Star Trek, Zombies, Terminator etc.)
