Inside Stuff
Personality: Azrael was the Angel of Death before the second war in Heaven as such his only contact with humanity before this tended to be when they were about to die. This gives him a rather morbid outlook on life, this doesn't mean he's gloomy, quite the opposite he genuinely seems to be warm and welcoming to everyone he talks to even as he orders the deaths of millions.
Strengths:
- Fearless: He's the Angel of Death, he does not fear his own destruction nor that of any other. Lacking the roots of all fear he comes across as courageous.
- Merciless: If you stand in his way he will do whatever it takes to do away with you.
- Unusually cheerful: You wouldn't expect a corrupt Angel to be happy but this guy is surprisingly joyful even in defeat.
Weaknesses:
- Uncompromising: He will not change his path once a goal has been set, he will fight to the ends of the Earth if he has to.
- Apathetic: While he may seem warm and friendly his position has granted him a morbid outlook on everything leaving him with little to no ability to form attachments or relationships.
- Not quite attuned with humanity: As his constant cheerfulness and willingness to commit atrocities would suggest Azrael doesn't quite know how to act like a normal human being.
History: Azrael is the Angel of Death, he has been in charge of making sure everyone dies when their times has come since life began. Lucifer's rebellion came and went with little change for the reaper, it wasn't until the second war started by Zadikel that he felt like he could be doing more. With the loss of Michael to the mortal world in the body of Clive Edinburg the war continue to wage.
Masquerading loyalty to both Gabriel (Loyal to God) and Zadikel (rebelling) he has come to Earth under the guise of dealing with Edinburg to bring the war to a close. He has no intentions of going through with it though since he enjoys the freedom the war has offered him thus far. That was until the Fallen Rangers appeared. Five teenagers somehow connected to the church and wielding the powers of Hell against the demons that had come into the world. This forced him to go to both of the higher ups and request reinforcements to keep them off of his trail. To further his safety he took upon the identity of a Bishop that tries to undermine the mentor of the Rangers in church politics. So far he has been largely unsuccessful.
Anything Else: The original plan for the Angelic villain of the Fallen Rangers comic with some minor changes due to the state of Heaven in this universe.
Sample RP:
"As our Saviour taught us let us pray..." Ryan Alexander chanted knowing full well the irony of his words. He had been moving behind the Lamb's back for sometime now and the flock knew no better. Still he went through the motions of the service, his cover had served him well thus far. Perhaps this church would be the one to have those meddlesome children.
A hand tapped his shoulder and he turned to face the pastor, Rev. Scott Matthews. Something seemed off about this man but he would not say anything outright. He can't blow his cover. The Minister spoke up and addressed the congregation. "We'd like to thank the Bishop for taking a stop in his very busy schedule this Sunday to be our guest for our mass and his generous donation to the Missionary Club."
As the Reverend said those words a group of five teenagers stepped forward and joined them at the front. The Bishop could feel the dark power surging inside them. He'd found them. He found the Fallen Rangers. "Thank you, Reverend. The pleasure is all mine."
