New Fic: Kamen Rider Evo

[Hikaru Hitachiin]

A young Hinaru Takahashi witnesses a large alien spacecraft attacking her home town of Isshu, but is saved by a warrior calling himself "Evo". Many years later, Hinaru is married to a baker in Isshu, and has a comfortable life.

Yet one night, a stranger turns up in Isshu looking for a place to stay. A young boy, possibly college age. His appearance coinsides with the appearance of a monster called an "Emmit". The Emmit tries to attack Hinaru, but the stranger saves her by transforming into the same person that saved her all those years ago. Once the Emmit is defeated, the stranger reveals himself to be Ibuki Yuji, a traveller looking for a home. Out of gratitude, Hinaru allows Ibuki to stay at her home for a while. The story follows Ibuki battling the Emmits while also helping Hinaru and her husband, Aizuki, out with their jobs.

Comig up with this fic was a very strange ordeal. I had just bought one of the new Hero Factory sets and was looking at it, thinking "that would be a pretty cool Rider design", so that was where the Rider part came from. Last week, I watched Kiki's Delivery Service, and I liked the look and feel of the town in that, so that was how I came up with the setting. The supporting cast came up naturally.

Evo will be more like Ryuki in terms of form changes: he only has his regular form and his ultimate form, Evo Infinity Form. Evo uses the Evo Lutionizer as his weapon. The only way I can describe it is Meteor Galaxy if it made actual weapons. It has a Blade setting, a Blaster setting, and a Chain setting.

Later on, I'll introduce Kamen Rider Excal, who's based on a medieval knight. I'll think up more weapons for him as the story progresses. There will also be a magical girl-type hero.

The main antagonists come in the form of Emmits. Emmits are created by devices called Emmiters, and serve as the puppet of whoever owns the Emmiter. Emmiters are devices recovered from the alien ship so many years ago.

Leading the surge of Emmiters is a shadowy figure only calling himself Kage Rider. His identity is a mystery.

Now for a cast list!

• Ibuki Yuji, a traveller who turns up in Isshu one day. He works in the Takahashi Bakery while fighting Emmiters as Kamen Rider Evo. He has a passion for baking.
  
• Hinaru and Aizuki Takahashi, a married couple who jointly run Takahashi Bakery. They are renowned town-wide. They love Ibuki like a son.
  
• Asuka Ichimonji, a regular customer at Takahashi bakery. She is very friendly and sometimes helps Ibuki out with his work.
  
• Ryuji Aizawa, Asuka's boyfriend. No-one knows that much about him, other than he moved to Isshu a few years ago.
  
• Masuda Aizawa, Ryuji's father. He owns a very successful electronics company called Aizawa Advanced.
  
• Ralto Clements III, a French boy who came to Isshu around the same time as Ryuji. He assists Evo as Kamen Rider Excal.
  
• Yusei Hasegawa, one of the higher-up employees at Aizawa Advanced. He is behind the distribution of Emmiters and answers to Kage Rider. His Emmit is called the Orthrus Emmit
  
• Shuki Ryuzoma, Masuda's secretary. She is also in on the Emmiters, using one to create the Cerberus Emmit.
  
• Shin and Miu Akiza, twin brother and sister who are employed by Aizawa Advanced. They use Emmiters to create the Gabriel and Ariel Emmits.
  
• Kage Rider, the one behind the discovery of Emmiters and their distribution. He seems to be a Kamen Rider.

Interesting, what exactly are Emmiters?

Emmiters are a sort of combination of Zodiarts switches and Yummies. Emmiters themselves look like a small coin with a colored center. When that center is pressed, an Emmit is created. The Emmit is controlled by the mind of the person who activated the Emmiter. They're meant to be alien weapons of war.
