Overview:
Being fresh from the Space Sheriff School, Philip is fairly eager to see some action. He enjoys reading any sort of book, even if just for a good laugh. He tries to get along with most of the people he meets. He can give long-winded explanations at times, which winds up his superiors, and can seem a bit inexperienced in combat and dealing with the law. He has a habit of talking to himself when he's alone on Vavilos.

  History
  
  This version of Philip, or as he was known then, Sonozaki Raito, comes from a kind and caring version of the Sonozaki family, and as such, was raised well. He and his sisters were home educated by their mother, Fumine. He liked to think he was protected from any sort of crimes, as the Space Sheriffs were watching over them. How wrong he was.
  
  Secretly, the Sonozaki Ryubee of this universe ran a hidden crime ring against the Space Sheriffs as "Gavan Bootleg", all the while posing as the head of the charity "The Museum". He never revealed his criminal activities to any of his family, especially not to Raito. Raito eventually, however, found out, and was emotionally distraught. Against his wishes, Ryubee was persuaded by the rest of his crime ring to rig an "accident" for his son that would lead to his death. Raito walked into the trap, and was almost killed, but was saved by Sokichi as Gavan. Most reluctantly, Ryubee had to tell everyone that his son was dead, and deleted most records of him from existence.
  
  When Raito awoke the next day, he could not remember anything about his life. Even his name was forgotten. Seeing a Philip Marlow book on the table next to his bed, he decided that his name was "Philip". When he recovered physically, he discovered that he was on Planet Bird, and was in the care of the GUP. Something sparked in the back of Philip's head, and he asked if he could join them as a Space Sheriff.
  
  After his training was completed, Philip was given his first mission: Investigate the disappearance of the ship Dolgiran. Philip was given the powers of Shaider and sent in Vavilos to the site of the disappearance. Once there, Vavilos was sucked into a powerful black hole, ending up on Earth. Philip attemted to get back to the black hole, when he noticed that Vavilos had detected the energy signature of the Dolgiran.

  Philip's hands clenched the controls of Vavilos as he dropped out of hyperspeed near the site where Dolgiran was last heard from. "This is Philip calling CUP Command. I'm at the last known location of Dolgiran. I'm going to look around."
  
  "Roger this, Philip." came a crackly voice from the other end: GUP Command. "If you can find Dolgiran intact, try and get it back to Bird. Other than that, get Sokichi and get out of there. That black hole is dangerous."
  
  "Roger this. Philip out." Philip ended the communication as Vavilos approached the black hole. "This is where he vanished." Philip said to himself as he looked out at the infinte void. "No sign of any ship of any kind. Something just made them vanish. and I have a good idea what it may be." He looked over to the large black hole.
  
  "I'm going to try and get closer." Philip took Vavilos closer to the black hole. Suddenly the ship started shaking. Philip flipped a few switches in a panic, but it got ever closer to the black hole.
  
  "No! Stop! Stop!" Philip shouted as Vavilos was pulled into the black hole.
