She had just gotten a jar of something out of the refrigerator when she heard him, and when she turned to face him, she ended up accidentally touching his chest armor with one hand and the jar, and looked up at him...

She looked into his eyes, not moving as well...except to place the jar on a flat surface so she wouldn't drop it.

He had to. He gripped her arm gently above the elbow to stop her, then leaned over and kissed her lightly on the forehead.

For some reason, Rekka didn't resist the grip, and was instead kissed on the forehead. After he pulled back, she stared up into his eyes. "Why?" she asked simply, hesitantly.

Rekka blanked for a few seconds...having never thought of it that way. "I..." she started, not sure of how she could express her opinion, or her gratitude...or a little of both.
