[Thoma Hirako]

"If I started to ask to see that, or tried to get a look at it and got caught, it wouldn't be good," he said, "I'm afraid we're not going to get anything, not with me being watched now."

[Jessica Jane]

"S'about what I figured, but, hey, ya never know." She shrugged after the quesion. "So... What now?"

[Thoma Hirako]

"I don't know, I need time to think," he said.

[Jessica Jane]

"Okay then..." She frowned a bit. Bummer. All that legwork didn't turn out to be so useful after all. But, oh well, such was the way that these things went. You couldn't win them all. Heck, it was looking like she couldn't even win one any more.

Jess continued: "So... do you want to meet up tomorrow or later today?"

[Thoma Hirako]

"I don't know, I'll just show up when I have a plan," he said, adding quickly, "If that's not a problem for you."

[Rad and Andrea]

"Nah. S'not like I've got anything better to do." She shrugged again. In reality, she didn't. "So, yeah... just drop by the Dragon whenever you have your next move planned out."

Jess hesitated for a moment and then continued: "And Thoma? Be careful."

[Thoma Hirako]

He looked to her, nodding once, "You be careful, too. As careful as we've been, someone may be watching us. We can never discount that."

[Jessica Jane]

Jess actually chuckled at that. Boy, did he not know who he was talking to.

"Don't worry about it. I live like I'm always being watched." She held up a hand and waved. "Don't worry about me. Catch you later."

[Thoma Hirako]

"Yeah, see you later," he waved as he turned his back, heading off.

The rest of the evening passed by without incident for Jess. She returned to the hostel and busied herself with trying to work off her bill by getting caught up on the household chores. The time passed swiftly.

Maybe it was the paranoia caused by Thoma's words, but Jess was starting to develop a sensation that she was, in fact, being watched. She tried to ignore it... with limited success throughout the night. Nerves were a tricky thing, weren't they?

That night Thoma came to her again, knocking on her door. He had decided on an option, and figured he might finally have a solution.

Fortunately for Thoma, Jess was a light sleeper by necessity. Equally fortunate for him, old habits were hard to break and she always slept clothed. She quietly slipped out of the bed, careful not to awaken the others present, and tiptoed over to the door.

After realizing who was on the other side, she pulled the door open and stepped out. Jess gave him a good-natured frown and then planted her hands on her hips.

"Another middle of the night visit? People are going to talk." She made sure it came across as the joke that it was.

He knew it was a joke, but showed no reaction either way, "I think I figured something out. May I come in?" he asked.

[Jessica Jane]

"Better not." Jess shook her head. "Not if you want any semblance of privacy. This is the low-rent district. You go in there, you'll be in the presence of several other people. That's the way hostels work. You share a room and put in chores to help pay your bill off. Most often hikers or bikers use them.

"Here. We can head outside and talk there." She pointed down the back stairwell. That would be a lot better that broadcasting their plans to anyone within earshot. Plus, they wouldn't get yelled at for disturbing the rest of others. Always a plus.

He followed her, "Basically, what we need to do is go into the prison. I've looked into what we've gotten today, and we need to see Kaito. Something just stands out in one of the reports that we got today, and it makes me think of him.

"Using that second informant and his file information, I looked into some of the finances. He seems to be funding Kido, when he was alive. He seems to have been withdrawing from an account that originally was one of Kaito's aliases."
