He started to lead them back towards his hotel, "If you want, we can stop for other clothing for you, other than that dress and what you had, if you'd be more comfortable with new clothes in the meantime," he offered.

Seriously, this guy was making it way too easy for her witty rejoinders. Jess supposed that she might have felt bad about that, but... it wasn't like anything else about this guy was easy. When she wasn't poking fun at him, trying to get information was pretty maddening.

Or maybe she was just trying to cover up her guilt about lying. That was a train of thought that she wasn't about to follow. At all.

"I've been doing fine with one set of clothes for over a year now. I think I can get along fine another day." She explained. "Whatever you need to do, we can do."

"If that's what you want, then use what you have," he said, "But keep in mind you might stick out when we have our work to get done."

He wasn't trying to force her or anything, he was just bringing up a realistic point.

"There's two days between now and then. Making a few trips out for clothes will fill in some of the time for me." Plus, it would give her a reasonable excuse to slip out and study up on her benefactor. That was always a perk.

"If that's how you want to do it," he said.

"It is." She responded.
