I've dubbed it 'Poignance' for now and I'm making progress on it and I've got an idea for the first book ready. Also, it's about a world war in a sense so please, don't be offended by the countries I chose for certain actions. Most of it is chosen at random or for it's place in our ladder ATM. The governmental figures are entirely fictional so yeah. Plot: In 2015, humanity has escelated to a population of 28 billion people. Food supplies are dwindling, petrol is a rich man's commodity and slowly Earth is beginning to be unable to support us. Then, the Brittish Government announces a plan to bring humanity down to acceptable numbers - A staged world war with heavy consequences. From there hatred is sparked and flames are kindled as new head appear leading the countries - Determined to win the bloodiest war the Earth has seen. Books: Poignance - Book 1, the first year of the war. Amnesia - Book 2, the second year. This time with (hopefully) a theme similar to Tommorrow When the War Began our civilian hero/ines begin to fight back. - Book 3, an huge buildup and the end of the series. That's not much, but what do you guys think of the idea?

I'm working on a deconstruction of RomCom tropes crossed with a bizarre coming-out story and a Fawlty Towers plot.
Your story sounds better though xP I can't see a government wanting to start a war with another country though. Perhaps Britain could try and kill their own citizens which becomes a second English civil war (First British civil war perhaps?)
Then it gets all *bleh* as other countries get involved/
Just a suggestion.

It's going to be Brittain starting it with a few countries reluctantly agreeing to stage it when a few back out, only to be swiftly attacked from the shadows with terrorism and even an attack from a non-participant country, setting it off for real.
