McKenzie gave Suzie her number back in A Call to Arms (I think that was it); so she could be invited. Though, being religious, she might not come.
And as for something having to happen; cliched, no offense. I did it in Rescue Force with Ren and Yuki, but that's justifiable, since Neo Terror was targeting the team, so went after the wedding.
Rei, if you see this, I'm doing everything in my power to not let something happen if and when Hoji and Jasmine marry.

If anything, I actually plan on deconstructing the scenario. You know the part where everyone is surprised when the bad guy shows up? Not gonna happen. The Miyazakis are pretty genre savvy as is, so they would probably have something on the invitation saying "Make sure to bring any and all henshin devices and be prepared to fight."
In addition, Ren, I believe Jasmine and Hoji's wedding is taking place at the Dekabase itself, so I doubt anyone would be absolutely stupid enough to just charge in and attack during the wedding.

I guess she has David, maybe Suzie could try and get Nakida and Kyle back together but Nakida brings Tobi?
Ooh, wait, just remembered something isn't Azarael's human form protestant? He doesn't care about which religion is which but it'd be odd for him to be at a civil partnership if he's a bishop.
Do you even have vicars or stuff at a civil partnership?
