Description: Rio often wears a white shirt with a large open collar and a black suit jacket over the top in an older style, but thin. The white shirt’s collar is on top of the black collar. He wears the white shirt tucked into dark jeans, and he wears boots either under or over his pants legs, either or. He stands at nearly six feet tall, with a lean and muscular body that he keeps in top shape, even when he was just a computer expert and doing that as his job. He has scars running down his back and chest, but they’re mostly white now. His right arm, at just above the elbow, is covered in even more scars. His arm from the elbow down is a cybernetic fake, but it looks very real. The “flesh” is even warm and mimicking real human flesh in every way. When removed, his stub is cut off by cybernetics running up through his arm. His eyes are cold and uncaring, and he rarely smiles or frowns, or anything, leaving his mouth in more of a hard line.

Inside Stuff
Personality: Rio is a very smart man, very smart and very athletic and strong, fast, agile. He has a strong body that he takes good care of, and always has, never knowing what type of job to take. If he lost his job, then he could fish, or do rescue work, or something, hence his body. But he always liked technology, and wanted to work in computers and other fields of technology. He’s very gifted, able to do a lot with his work, from hardware, software, making new, rebuilding, etc.
Outside of work, Rio is an antisocial man, cold and calculating. He always has been, ever since his school days. He’s a jerk, cruel to people usually. He doesn’t feel remorse or regret when acting this way to people. He sees things not as good or bad, lawful or illegal, or black and white. He only sees things the way he wants to, and acts accordingly. He doesn’t like people giving him orders, but takes orders just as well and doesn’t talk back, as he is someone who wants to get his work done.
When Vector recruited him, he became loyal, since they gave him power. He hated them at first for taking his arm, but he grew to respect them, he grew to make people fear his power. He grew to become absolutely loyal, and become a soldier without remorse, killing those he was told to. He’s not a psychopath or anything; he just doesn’t care about the value of a life. That being said, he doesn’t go out of his way to murder people, or anything.
Strengths:
- Physical abilities
- Incredible mind
- More advanced technology than the past Riders
Weaknesses:
- Only a single modified arm
- Not as strong or fast as his predecessors
- Not technically armor, unlike most Riders, and he has no cyborg body to take shots for him; weak body in battle against others
History: Rio grew up in a household where his father worked on radios and televisions. He was around technology from birth, becoming fascinated by it. He studied technology from the age of five as close as he could, and started to study it more in school, often ignoring his studies. However, he always made up his work, seeing the importance in studying.
He started to do a lot of physical activities in this time, realizing he didn’t want his body to waste away as he studied, unsure of what he really wanted to do in his life as it was. He balanced his time between working out, working on schoolwork and his studies, and working on technology, becoming separated from his family for the most part.
Because of all this time secluded, he lost his people skills. He can fake them when he needs to, but doesn’t really have any. Because of the cold, hard nature of technology and numbers, he became cold and calculating, just like technology and machinery.
Around the age of twenty two, a group sought him out for his mind. He joined this group, which was operating under a false name. He later learned that the name of the organization was Vector, and that they were funding other groups. His main job was to look into technology and advancements by these other groups, but within the past year, he’s been focused almost solely on cybernetics work from a group that wasn’t named in any files.
These cyborgs and other cybernetic advancements engulfed him. He became fascinated by how advanced this was, and how amazing this all was. Soon Vector sought out a strong member of their ranks, using the research of Rio and other scientists based on the cybernetic research that was done. He was selected at the end of all of the exams, physical and mental. As a reward, he was trained even more in combat in the attempt to make him the perfect soldier.
Rio managed to pass everything, pass all of the training quickly and perfectly. His reward for his performance was the loss of his right arm. He was given a powerful series of prosthetics with technology so advanced that upgrading his entire body into a cyborg would kill him. At first he resented Vector, but grew to respect this arm and power of his. He decided that he would show his power to the Hoppers he was based on by fighting as Riderman, in an attempt to avenge Shocker for Vector, and to show his abilities to the world.
Anything Else: Played by Ren. Yeah, Shocker isn’t fully destroyed yet, but it’s almost there. So just ignore that last bit of history.
Sample RP:
“What do you think you’re doing?” Rio questioned the Bee Woman, as all referred to her as.
She eyed him, lifting her rapier. He took a step back, watching her, “Nothing,” she said absently.
Two soldiers grabbed Rio’s arms. He lashed a kick back to take one down then used his free arm to break the other’s neck with a strong blow. He whipped around to face the Bee Woman, but she was gone.
“What the hell is going on here?” he shouted.
She was behind him. She kicked him to the floor. He rolled and tried to get up as fast as he could, but two soldiers held him down. She lowered her rapier to his face, making him stop his struggles.
“I wouldn’t fight this,” she said.
“I’m a loyal soldier!” Rio shouted, “I passed every test!”
“I know,” she said softly, “This is your reward.”
She slashed down, severing his right arm around the elbow. He cried out in pain at the instant cut. Blood sprayed out, his stump burned from the cut, from the sheer pain. He almost vomited. He thought he might pass out. He wondered which would come first, and if he would choke to death on his vomit.
“Get him to the labs,” she said, “Get him ready.”
Ready? Ready for what?
He didn’t think the outcome, whatever it would be, would be something he would like.
He would be wrong.
