The end of the world DID happen in 2012, just not in the way anyone expected. Massive natural disasters lead to the Helium Wars which lead to the end of the world as we know it. Seven years later in 2019, There is Battery City, resting not to far where LA (which is now a crater) used to be. The city and much of the remaining world is ruled by mega-corporation Better Living Industries (BLI or BL/ind)who promised and delivered safety, peace and prosperity so long as you give up your personal freedoms and take your pills everyday. Outside of the cities are the radiation-filled wastelands known as the zones. The only ones living there are known as Killjoys, the rebel freedom fighters of the world. The Killjoys work to sabotage BLI and BLI works to kill or rehabilitate killjoys. Whichever side you take, you will constantly be tested: The Killjoy life has a romanticized (if not dusty) glamor to the civilians and BLI workers, who have everything from their jobs to their emotions heavily regulated. The safety that Battery City loyalty offers can be tempting to Killjoys who are eating canned dog food for the third day in the road and have to stay up for 48 hours to avoid an ambush. Eventually, you have to ask yourself: in an anonymous world, would you destroy something perfect to make something beautiful? Join us at Keep Running, a site based on the world created by My Chemical Romance's album 'Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys'. Rules | Plot | Canon list | Advertising
