This is just something I'm curious about.
How do you feel about killing your characters off? Do you think that heroes should have heroic deaths? That villains should get deaths worthy to repay what they've done? That any warrior should fall in battle, and only battle?
I'm just wondering about what you guys think. Personally, I have no qualms about killing any character of mine off, for the most part. I feel I need to kill one or two every so often. This world is dangerous, people die. I don't think heroes need heroic deaths, or villains need deaths to repay their crimes. It's cliched to me, and not how things work. I work this way because of being influenced by George R. R. Martin (A Song of Ice and Fire, adapted into Game of Thrones) where anyone can die at any time in any way.
Look at my most recent kill of Yuuki Jojima. She died because she was a bystander in a fight, and it was a tactical move to kill her. Yes, people are mad for that kill, but this is how the world would realistically go.
My other kills follow both methods:
Thomas sacrificed himself due to his honor, but was ultimately slaughtered brutally.
Jerome (he survived) sacrificed himself to try to kill the Great Leader of Shocker.
Rio (presumed deceased) was cut down during his flight with the other Army members, and presumably killed by Vector, or modified into a soldier.
Marilen (revived) was raped and then murdered in a fight.
Whip was just slaughtered in battle by Dark Decade.
Marcel did the heroic thing, and got his soul devoured by a demon to suffer for eternity.
I've simply decided to kill anyone at any time in any way at this point. I've been impacted enough to see to this, no matter what people think about it. I really don't feel much about killing them either; I don't feel emotionally invested enough to actually feel bad about their deaths (well, a few I can't kill because a few I wouldn't be able to bear killing, primarily McKenzie).
But that's me. What about you guys?
