Time Trains are literally trains that travel through time. This is done by connecting to the Sands of Time and travelling through there to go back to past, or future times.
----
The first thing that needs to be realised to gain an understanding on the Time Trains is how Time and the Sands of Time work.
The Sands of Time are an infinite collection of every memory on Earth, each grain representing a moment from a pinpointed moment in time. Literally billions appear every second.
As such, those memories structure and create time. Only through those memories, embodied in the Sands of Time can time travel be possible. It's less of travelling and more accessing those moments where the Sands of Time marked, however the time travelling is still a truth and one can affect the future and past, and most importantly, the present.
Another thing to realise is that there are many timelines coexisting. There are seperate generations, eras, and then timestreams. Every timestream is a parallel creation of sand where things could have been, normally focusing on singular things. Each era is also present in the sands. Every generation is also a crucial part.
Every generation posesses many Singularity Points who's combined presence covers the entire world. These Singularity Points mark their generation, era and timestream in the Sands of Time and every memory is connected to them. Using their memory alone they can reform the world by reverting time.
With every timeline coexisting and being always present in the Sands of Time, there is actually no time travelling involved in life. Rather, it is simply the present that moves. The present is a sketchy, abstract term, yet it is crucial to mantaining the timelines. Each generation, each Singularity Point is chosen and the Liners find them.
As such, with time and time travel, it's merely a matter of moving your 'present' into certain places in the Sands of Time. However, the definite present is changable. The past affects the present and the present affects the future. The sands can and will shift, memories changing. However, the Singularity Point's memories never change.
With every timestream, it all ends somewhere, but it can be cut off instantly when the choices that would create those memories disappear from the Sands of Time. The main reason this occurs is due to a Singularity Point losing their memory.
A second thing of the Singularity Point is that they don't need timestreams to exist. Their Sand is permanent and their memories remain, but sometimes even they can't reform worlds. At that point, they are lost in time.

Time Trains are an umbrella term for trains that are used to travel through tmie. Time Trains were the only ones outfitted with this technology, it's details lost not to, but in time. At a nonexistant date this technology was created and the trains were made.
Time Trains are unique in that their rails mark that train's 'present'. As such, by travelling through the Sands of Time they can travel through time itself, moving through those memories. As it is only the present, it moves forward, leaving a pastbehind with only the present remaining to them and a future appearing in front of them, changing into the present.
There is a seperate category of Time Trains, the Liners.
The Liners are typically normal Time Trains and serve even commercial services, ferrying passengers around time. However, the Liners have their own technology unique to them - The Riders. Each Liner has a rider assigned to them, equipped with a belt and a pass. With this they can serve battle purposes, mainly used in targetting Imagin to prevent them from affecting the timestream.
As mentioned above, Time Trains serve commercial purposes. For those with a ticket, the Time Trains will serve as trains, going from time to time and dropping off passengers.
A train can only serve passengers with tickets that lead to a certain point in time. As such, they will be picked up from their original time and dropped off at their destination. There is another kind of ticket that allows passengers into the Sands of Time and onto their train, typically when time (As in on a clock) lines up with the same repeated digit. However, with this ticket the Time Train cannot drop off their passengers anywhere, only let them board the train.
Lastly, there are the passes. They allow the holder to board the train that the pass is assigned to at any time and also mean that other commercial trains can pick them up without a ticket. However, they still require a ticket to be allowed to be dropped off at a seperate point in time. Passes are always given to a Liner's chosen Rider, letting them board the train to get support and use tickets they obtain from Imagin. Those Passes also allow contracted Imagin to board the train with them.
Each train's Owner also possesses a Master Pass. This allows them to board any train and also let the train harbour at a station or join onto a seperate track, letting them completely change their present.
There are many laws regarding Time Trains to avoid abuse of them, which are upheld by the Time Police. They possess their own trains and Liners.
Littered throughout the Sands of Time are many stations which let passengers on and off of trains and also gives the train a place to stop, letting the passengers get off and see what the station has to offer.
A more interesting station is the Junction - A moving train station that oversees the passover from one generation's Singularity Points to the next, called Junction Points until they have joined onto the solid present.
The Time Police are generally more lax in prosecution to Liners, and as such many Liners take on illegal passengers, though many are simply to aid the Riders. However, if needed several Liners throughout time have commited enough crimes to be arrested, should the need arise.
The God's Line is a seperate track for Time Trains, accessed through an 'INFINITY' ticket, of which only a few exist. It allows a train to travel tens of thousands of years into the future and past, and it's tracks are much longer than the normal train, and as such can occupy whole generations and in a few odd cases even entire eras are once, and as such can have catastrophic effects on the present.

Still a bit of a WIP, what do you guys think so far?
