"Very funny. FBI twenty years." Sam said as he wiped his prints off the gun and put it back in it's case under the counter.
"I've dealt with that kind of stuff since before your were born and I've still got a few friends out there."

"F...B...I? You serious?" Adam tried to comprehend the information. "Then what are you doing here?"

"I'm retired, figured owning a little shop like this would be relaxing." Sam says with a shrug. He's lying but he's been lying about his life for so long he's gotten pretty good at hiding his tells. It's one thing for Adam to know that he knows about his powers but quite another for him to know about the Caretakers, especially with Danny Ketch on the loose again.

"Oh, right." Adam replied. "So, if you know about me, I'm guessing that you know about Teddy." He clicked his fingers twice and the blue Imagin appeared in the middle of the shop.
"You summoned me, Adam. What fo..." Teddy's black eyes fell on Sam. "Aah! Sam's here! Run away!"
"It's okay, Teddy. He knows." Adam said, restraining the Imagin from running away.

"I didn't know you named it." Sam says with a bit of disgust as he looks over the blue creature.
"Personally I think it's a mistake to trust a monster but that's your business not mine."

"He picked the name." Adam protested. "Not to mention Teddy's incredibly loyal."
"This is true." Teddy agreed.
"Not to mention he's also my main weapon." Adam continued.

"Like I said it's your business. I'm retired I don't want to get involved with that stuff anymore." Sam says with a dismissive hand gesture.
"So how long you two been doing this anyways, you started since you started working here right?"

"I haven't been doing that for as long as I've worked here." Adam explained. "But, yes, most of the time I've worked here."

"Then how do you keep running late? You got a time travelling train?" Sam asks sternly, as long as the cat was out of the bag he might as well ask the obvious questions.

"It's complicated." Adam took a deep breath and attempted to explain. "The train needs tickets to work. I'm using most of the tickets to fight Imagin. I assume you know what they are?" He asked before continuing. "Anyway, when I'm done, it returns me to when I left off. Yeah, that's about it."

"I know Imagin alright. You know the shooter on the Grassy Knoll was Imagin. Oswald wished Kennedy would die and volia. They kept the turning to dust before he even made it to jail thing quiet though." Sam explains grimly.
"So you'll understand if I say I don't want that thing in my store unless you are in the process of fighting a monster."

"Alright." Adam agreed. "Teddy, head back to the New DenLiner." The blue Imagin complied happily and dissolved into sand. "Besides, I don't think any monsters'll be coming here for me."

"They'd better not." Sam says with a slight smirk.
"Cleaning them up is a pain. Don't worry about anything with it too much. Saving the world is a bit more important than peddling 4th Edition splat books."

"You're right about that." Adam replied. "But only by a smidge."

"Sorry about not telling you sooner. I figured you'd want what privacy you could manage. I wouldn't have brought it up if ugly hadn't shown up." Sam says with a slight shrug, he feels bad about lying to the kid but telling him the whole truth would put him in even more danger.
