Four sickening cracks were hard in the space of eleven seconds. The first came from the jab Jerome delivered to the first man's skull and the second from his kick, the third was from the first again as he stumbled back and hit the wall, the fourth and final crack was the noise of the second combatman slipping down the wall and breaking his neck on the solid concrete floor.
Paragon nodded and started clapping slowly.

When Kiriha's surgery was completed, he just lay there, his mind subdued by the SHOCKER mental conditioning and implants put into him. He was awaiting an order to rise.

Kiriha looked down to his belt, now suited up as it initiated his armor for him. He pulled his helmet onto his head, awaiting orders.

"Why isn't he doing anything?" Asks William, the metal in his voice making it hard to gauge how harsh he meant it to sound.
"He'll only obey a direct order," Dr. Lawrence replied.
William nods, the conditioning had worked better than planned.
