Anyway, the idea behind it is a good one, you get three nerds (Um, two nerds and a martial-arts girl) together in a world where Sentai doesn't exist and give them the powers. You wouldn't be able to do this in the actual sentai canon because such powers have been established and exist.

As for the description. It could always undergo Cerebus Syndrome? We come in for the nerd jokes and fanservice but a few episodes in it kicks it up a notch and becomes action based (Unlikely but still). And look at Cutie Honey: THE LIVE, the first few episodes are:
Martial arts! Boobs! Funny people! Boobs! Cute girls! Fighting! Boobs! Lesbian overtones!

Then Watari shows up and it's:
Martial arts! Boobs! Scary m*th*rf*ck*rs! Blood! Biotechnological weaponry! Cute sociopathic girls! Really, really, really disturbing lesbian overtones!

Remember a Japanese article on a PR Legend War? Translated:

The important parts are on the 2nd page (with the legend war photo) where it says that the Power Rangers 20th anniversary will begin in August 2012, and the interview portion on the 3rd page. Here's the translation:

HH: 2012 is also the 20th anniversary of Power Rangers, isn't it.
Suzuki: At first we got an offer from America to do something like "199 Heroes," but of course Power Rangers started with Zyuranger, so the characters before that don't exist. "So just get rid of those parts." (laughs) We can't do that either, so the discussion became "Let's just film new footage with the 20 years' worth that we do need."

HH: Power Rangers has already been reimported and dubbed with the voices of the actors that played in the Japanese original. That's very interesting.
Suzuki: Yes, once you get used to it, it's very interesting. But there's a cost to getting the actors to dub, so we can't really do it much.

HH: Lately they have events even in Taiwan. In Asia, it's not really "Power Rangers," is it?
Suzuki: I suppose. Originally they would just broadcast the Japanese version in east Asia. They've been doing that in Taiwan for 7 years now. It's not really profitable, but they wanted to try it out, so they did it. It's gotten an unusually good reaction.

HH: So then, what are the prospects for sentai, including Power Rangers, in 2012?
Suzuki: In America it will be the 20th anniversary of Power Rangers, so they have to put forth a lot of work. In preparation for that, they asked us to "film the parts where the sentai (from Zyuranger on) in Japan." We're currently setting up for that.

What we can draw from this is that Gokai is our next season, or at least we might get an Alien Rangers treatment from Gosei. But, what else does it mean?

That states Gemini Zodiarts is to be played by Takagi Shinpei. That would be cool, especially if they let Manpei play a double of him. (The reverse of what happened in Gekiranger.)

It also states that Virgo Zodiarts is really Hirota Reiko (played by Tachibana Yurika)

It's interesting how the students are actually becoming Horoscopes (Even if this is fake, Kijima) and screwing other the balance, seeing as it was teachers with the most hold.

Rin Honoka's character, Ran Kuroki, is a freshman that does Aikido. She's the first person Gentaro decides to befriend out of all the new students. Ohsugi also ends up as the new homeroom teacher.

Episode 32 seems to be the debut of Cosmic States, the episode title is "The Super Space Sword"

Akibaranger

Is that Nai and Mea? Or just the maids dressed up like Nai and Mea? Warning- I took creative license with the quotes, because they are partially "Otaku" Japanese. Because of that, they may be slightly off. If anyone can translate them better, please feel free to let me know, and I'll edit the post.


"Dekaranger nara Banban Osshu!" (If it's Dekaranger, Let's BanBan!)

Akagi Nobuo:
A man who works for the Sasaki Ponpoko Delivery Service. At 29 years old, he is almost an "Oji-san"; it's a rather delicate age. A Serious Sentai Otaku; when it comes to Super Sentai Knowledge, he is unmatched. Exceeding in "MosouChikara" (Delusion Power), he is made the leader of the Akibaranger. Recently, he's been getting hooked on a new anime called "Nijiyome Gakuen Zukyuuuun Aoi".

Notes- His body, trained as a messenger, is completely useless in battle


"AkibaBlue.....tte koto de" (AkibaBlue....is kind of...)

Aoyagi Mizuki:
While a cool high school student, she is also trained in mixed martial arts. She decides to join the Akibaranger to help her excel in the world of sports and surpass competition. Has an unyielding character and uses harsh language; she is especially merciless with Nobuo. Despite her lack of sensitivity, she is actually in love with the Aoi anime.


Notes- When posing and introducing themselves, she's often reluctant. When it comes to being an otaku, she is nowhere near the level that Red and Yellow are.

Moegi Yumeria (Cosplay Name):
A cosplay girl. Likes Super Sentai and the new Aoi anime. Although she looks really young, she is actually 23, and a "clear member of society." (i.e. she has a job lol) Although she is dressed as a cat, she does change her costume, and likewise, her character.

Notes: Although not quite at the level of Akagi, she is also quite knowledgeable about Super Sentai. She also has a certain affection towards women (if you couldn't see this coming, you need to watch more anime)


MMZ-01 MoeMoe Zukyuuun

A Henshin Figure that transforms the 3 into Akibaranger! After transformation, it becomes a gun for the Akibaranger! Also acts as a communication device with with Hiroya Hakase. The Akibaranger's finishing move is the "MoeMagnum" where all 3 fire the Zykyuuun.


Hiroya Hakase:

Developed the MMZ-01. Store Manager of the Sentai Cafe "Himitsu Kichi" in Akihabara. Why did she develop the MMZ-01? Who is she really? Although she seems bad, she is merely full of mysteries.

Itashaa Robo:

A robot transformed from the Machine Itashaa (named by Nobuo), achieved through "Hikounin Henshin". Since it transforms from a normal car, its' size is nowhere near that of the official Super Sentai bots. To control the robot, a large portion of MosouChikara is needed. When not in use, Itashaa is parked in the Tenant Building that houses the Himitsu Kichi.


GozuGozu:

A Maid in the Sentai Cafe. She first dresses like BoukenYellow.


Honiden Sayaka:

A woman who works at a small Editing Company in Akihabara. Nobuo's "Madonna" she frequently appears in his fantasies.


Nijiyome Gakuen Zukyuuun Aoi:

The anime currently gaining super-popularity. In this show, it and Super Sentai are most popular in Akiba.


Jyadan Houjin Sutema Otsu:

A mysterious organization which plans to end Otaku Culture, take over Akihabara, and remake it into a different town. The Shachiiku, the common workers, and Marshuuna, the Redevelopment Division Manager, are the first to appear, attacking the town! Also, they adhere to customs- presenting their Business Cards before battle.


Redevelopment Division Manager Marshuuna:

Female manager of the Jyadan Houjin. Disguises herself as a leader of the Akihabara community.


Hirashain Shachiiku:

The Jyadan's combatants. They shout "Norm" and "Zangyou!" inviting sadness. Their lower clothes change to fit the jobs they are doing, their heads are always the same.


Shibuya Seitaka Awadachi Sou Hidenaga Abura Mushi:

Chief of Jyadan. Things of otaku as an eyesore, who have "corrupted culture and fashion." Schemes to make Akihabara into a "Second Shibuya"; i.e. more refined.

-Battles in the show will mix humor with Showa Style fights, and new style VFX

-Sites for Battle will be Toei Tokusatsu favorites

I want to know why Toei continues to bill them as just 7. Sure, Stronger was the last before Skyrider (originally a reboot), but it really should be Ichigo through ZX.
