Tajador OOOverdrive had failed a while back, but she had made it to Chicago. Now McKenzie was alone, weak from the power she had used, and struggling to find Jack Frost.
The phone had died, unfortunately. Now what?

Jack Frost sighed and set down the newspaper. While everyone around was worried about demons and devils and zombies invading England he was more worried about his son, and that girl with the OOO Driver. He was deep in thought, sitting at a table and drinking a cup of coffee.

Asking around hadn't gotten very far. Jack Frost was an odd name, and nobody could give her much information. Eventually she started asking about Thomas's name along with Jack's, and started to get somewhere, since it sounded less odd than just "Jack Frost".
The problem was that Smart Brain was gone. Where would he be?

"Hey, hey you're Jack Frost right?" Someone asked him.
"Yessss ... why?" Jack replied.
"There's some girl looking for you,"
He was about to ask why and who and what when the man walked off and left him. Great. How lovely the people of Chicago were.

She was thinking about giving up hope after another half hour of searching. Why did no one know where Smart Brain was? Surely it was rebuilt after whatever caused it to be destroyed, right?

She almost considered transforming, just to try to fly, or something. But that last one took too much out of her.
This city was too large, but she was supposed to be fairly close to where it used to be.

If she needed to find him then Jack would make it easy for her. He walked over to the spot where Smart Brain's HQ had stood and waited, watching the construction workers run about and fix things.

Now what? Maybe since Smart Brain was destroyed, it was rebuilt? Maybe someone in the area could give her an idea of where they relocated to. She headed in that direction, though it would take her about ten minutes by walking.

Jack was still waiting, except this time he'd thought of an idea. Namely to get a piece of paper from the office near the construction site and stand on a bench with the words "JACK FROST" written on it in black sharpie.

A man standing on a bench with a paper saying the name? Well, that had to be him.
McKenzie walked towards the man, "Jack Frost...I'm the woman you spoke to on the phone," she said, "McKenzie Williams," she withdrew the OOO Driver from her pocket, "I imagine you probably wanted to see me."
