Rei once again rested in her forest, so to speak...this time, near the same lake as before. She stretched a bit as she was half-clothed , having ascended from the lake to finish her bath like a goddess of sorts.
Then she reached down to pull up her shirt...and as she did so, she felt that she wasn't alone...but she didn't know where. Sighing softly, she slipped her arms through the t-shirt holes, and pulled it down over what some would call her gorgeous form, before raising her eyes and looking around again.

The Earl saw Rei and he sighed, she looked so innocent...the time for the destruction of Wild Space Corp was close on hand and just once, just once he wanted to talk to Rei...perhaps see some reason as to why he was doing this other than for revenge. He cautiously approached her and sat next to her, "Remember me?" he asked while slightly smiling.

The Earl shook his head, "Nothing I just want to talk to you before...before my plan comes into fruition, the darkness is slowly starting to build within me...and I'm scared" the Earl then thought to himself, he was frightened about what he was going to do...frightened by how many deaths and betrayals he will be committing...all only to destroy one man.

The Earl chuckled, "Yes...all of that Rei...all of that but then again how can my anger be satisfied, that man murdered my cousin simply so I could become..." gesturing to himself, "this...this monster that binded both Michael and Satan to me. But what choice do I have? I've fallen so, so far into the darkness that no one...perhaps not even my cousin could pull me out."

"Listening..." the Earl muttered, he groaned and grabbed his head as his dark side whispered poisonous words into his ears, "I try to listen but it doesn't work...perhaps, perhaps I am destined for this. I desperately want to find the Light but it's just out of reach...just out of reach."

Rei shakes her head and pulls out the Evoltruster...holding it near her heart as it begins to pulse...and glow brightly. She wasn't using it to transform, but her Light might remind him...

The Earl saw the light and he was entranced by it, he kept staring at it light a beacon of hope...inside he was reminded a bit about Elizabeth's own light and he reached out for it...

In his mind....there would be an expansive field...known as the Dark Field, the polar opposite of the Meta Field....and he stood in the middle...the darkness very close to eating him. But in that field, Nexus appeared, bathed in a golden, glowing light...and the Dark Field began to revert to the Meta Field as the white eyes of the silver being stared directly at Clive.
"Don't lose your Light...Clive." would be what he heard in his mind.
But before the area where he stood could revert to the Meta Field, the darkness within pushed back...the Dark Field returning to its former place as Nexus disappeared. This would show that Rei could not drive the darkness out of his mind on her own....

The Earl saw all of this and heard those words...he thought on it and started to recalculate everything. Yes he wanted revenge, yes he wanted Den-O dead but was this the right way? He snapped out of it and in a sudden clarity he knew what he had to do: restore the light in him and destroy the darkness within him. He smiled and said to Rei, "I understand now Rei what I have to do."

Rei nods, putting the item back in her jacket. "Then go, and do what you need to do...with the Light's Blessing." she said
