Not sure where else to put this. I don't know why I didn't think to link this earlier; I rewrote Kamen Rider Dragon Knight and attempted to make it make more sense (it broke its own rules, like the mirror transportation, the Ventaran Riders ages yet being hundreds of years older...). I call it Kamen Rider Re:Dragon Knight.

I added some Ryuki stuff in, and some custom stuff just for myself.

Kamen Rider Re:Dragon Knight; some chapters are out of order, but I can't fix them due to Deviant Art being stupid in the editing processes.

Alright so I just finished Kiva so I'm going to sumerise everything I thought about it. Beware of spoilers.

1) The show is damn pretty, all of the designs for pretty much everything are incredibly well done.
2) The music is nearly as well done but considering that music is one of the core themes here I would be disapointed with anything less.
3) The show's interpersonal plots while a bit overdependent on miscomunication were rather well done for the most part, with the exception of Maya but I'll get to that later.
4) Nago's character is painfully inconsistent, not even with any real development his character just spontaniously changes from one episode to the next. The worst example was at about halfway through the series where he goes batshit insane trying to get a button from his quarry as a bounty hunter who just so happens to be fangire, he more resembled a Batman villian than anything else in that episode and this never addressed ever again. Even worse was the blindness plot in the last episode it just comes and then goes with next to nothing being made of it.
5) This is nitpicky but a Franken species? The whole reason the Frankenstein monster worked was that he was one of a kind and man made. Come on Toei at least read the book or watch the movie you're ripping off.
6) Maya, I feel no sympathy for her at all despite the show's best efforts. She comes in and destroys the happy relationship between Yuri and Otyea for the sake of an experiment and then falls for him herself leading to her fall from grace among the Fangires. No one ever calls her out on the fact that it all was her own damn fault. Also how did she survive in that cave by herself after leaving Wataru for twenty years? There have got to be hundreds of pissed off fangires wanting to see her dead. They only ever happen to show up when her sons are visiting?
7) Speaking of Wataru, when was he concieved? I know it's a kids show and they aren't going to show it on screen but unless it was at some point when Oteya was still with Yuri he was never alone with Maya with any privacy long enough to have done anything. If thats the case I lose a hell of a lot of sympathy for Oteya as well.
8) The ending, the last two episodes were stupid wrapped in more stupid. To make it all worse we know they have to fail, humans and fangires don't end up coexisting in peace because future fangires are coming back to the past to kill humans anyways. This and Decade have been the whole Kamen Rider shows I've watched fully. Do all Kamen Rider shows just lose their shit towards the end?

W and Den-O got even better nearer the end. Mid to late Agito was the best. Faiz gets better, from what I've seen. OOO is just getting better and better.

I just finished Shin Kamen Rider Prolouge. That movie was kind of slow and really silly towards the end but altogether not that bad and perfectly watchable.

Also it has my favourite henshin ever. The rest of the movie despite it's glaring flaws and desire to be so much deeper than it really is was all worth it just to see that sequence, it's beautiful. Especially in comparison to the trick editing of the Showa henshins and the CGI of the Hesei era ones.

I have to ask, what are your favorite Riders? After The First and The Next, I've actually lost respect for the new shows, and now hold the original Riders as my favorites. They didn't need all those gimmicks and form changes to kick ass.

My favourite rider is Eternal. I don't know why, I just proper loved NEVE and everything about him. Design-wise though my favourite suit's IXA because I like crucifixes being used as symbolism (hence the addiction to Death Note and Evangelion).

Eternal is amazing, as is IXA in design and capabilities. Out of the new Riders, IXA is the only one I genuinely like anymore, because he is somewhat basic.

But still, I prefer the powerless warrior Riders.

From a pure design standpoint I'd call my favourite a tie between Kiva and Shin.

From a conceptual standpoint I like Double more because the Gaia Memory concept is brilliant in everyway.

For pure no real explaination gut feeling I have to DiEnd. So mostly Heisei riders with one halfway in between movie rider.

Oh before I forget. Everyone should read this. Or if you don't have time at least the third and fourth chapters with Rider 2 in it. It's basically what Toei would've done had they had a bigger budget for ZX.
