Eri braced for a second shot, helping keep the weapon aimed directly at him.

Verpes started to run for them, intent on cutting them down first.
Then something slammed into him. It had fallen like a meteor, creating a crater on impact and throwing him aside. The force of the fall had done the damage as the figure rose, clad in armor.
He looked back through his crimson visor once at the six, "This is a foe too strong for you. Hone your teamwork," he said, extending a sword and approaching Verpes.
"What...what just happened?" Liam muttered.
"I wish I knew," Cal said.

"Wow..." Eri said, looking at him for a moment before snapping out of it. "Honing our teamwork, eh?"

"Are we... disjointed?" Sayo asked.
"What do you mean?" Aaron asked.
Ryosuke's eyes just narrowed before preparing another shot. "We have to try again," he said.

Verpes attacked, but the knight parried easily, kicking him back and switching his sword to firearm mode, unloading pointblank into his foe's face before snapping the sword out again, snapping it right across his face once more.
"Do so. You're too scattered right now. You lack the teamwork you need," the knight told them as he continued his duel with Verpes, able to wound and fight on par with the elite enemy.
"We should," Cal said, "But...he has it covered."
"So we ignore this fight?" Liam questioned.
"I'm not saying that..."

"I'm on board, Ryosuke-kun....whatever it takes to defeat him, alongside all of you." Eri said, putting the card down on her weapon this time, lending additional power to it.

Liam did, and then finally Cal did, as leader, and as teammate. He had had his problems with some of them, having to fight with specific Rangers and sometimes never seeing others in the battles, but that had to be put aside now.
Verpes and the knight continued to clash, their blades locked.

Cal and Liam held it up, giving their support as Knight and Verpes continued.
Knight had no intention of moving, that was clear.

Eri helped steady it as well, slightly worried, but if the Knight could stand up to that enemy, he could just as well move himself out of their way.

"FIRE!" the team shouted, going for a second shot at Verpes.

Leon pushed Verpse's blades back and slashed him from shoulder to hip, spinning as he did so and dropping down to a knee, arching his back and lowering himself. As Verpse was stunned and wounded by the slash, the Buster attack slammed into him, causing him to scream and explode.
