Another breach in the wall. They were normally dangerous, but this one especially so. Maybe that was why Renly was sent to deal with it. He was, after all, 1st Ranger.
Whenever a monster breached the wall, they took with them metaphysical energy. The same energy the Wall was made of. As such, it could be seen with an eye of Aegon. Which was what Renly was doing right now, holding the round stone up to his eye and following the energy trace.

"Well...that's...that's an interesting look," Robb commented when he saw Renly. Why had he said that? That wasn't good to say...
He regretted it as soon as he said it, just hoping that the man hadn't heard, even a few feet away.
