"Well, with Ventara protected, there wasn't a lot to do at the Rider base...and having been in stasis meant that I could get by with lower amounts of sleep, usually. But there was always one person who would come to the base...and that was Tarana, when it was my turn to stay for a year. She'd bring me things, like cookies, or other things like that...and we'd talk." Price paused for a moment, kind of thankful he could get this out. "Then after a while, I figured it out. She was...infatuated by me. She...for lack of a better choice of wording, liked me in that way."

"It came time for me to return to stasis...and she knew. She....offered me her heart as a reason to stay out of stasis...and I had to tell her no, I had to...break it, in a sense. I wanted her to find someone who could be everything to her that she wanted out of me....who could be there for her. I couldn't be that, because I chose to be a Knight, and it wouldn't be fair to her to keep waiting 12 years for me. But I woke up Adam...and went back into stasis. I had no way of knowing what was to come."
