They had come back. As Kiriha had hoped, they had returned and launched attacks on the base itself, instead of coming back to him. Thomas, Kei, Kaido. They were fighting their former organization, and aiding in the fight.
They also had that mark. Kiriha had figured it out, with Marilen’s help. It was a way for Vector to keep an eye on them, through psychic or magical means. Vector hadn’t trusted their former members to not attack, and had taken pre-emptive measures to keep them in Vector’s sights.
Kiriha blocked the Vector Rider’s punch and pushed him back with a kick. Kaido aided him, using the Ridol’s rope mode to slash and keep it at bay, until he was able to impale the Rider through the throat and kill the man. He pushed him off of the weapon and kept running, protecting Kiriha, as Thomas had before, now fighting another Rider farther back.
The others were elsewhere, fighting through Vector’s minions. Bazooka Turtle, Vector Riders, Chainsaw Lizard, Bee Woman, and others. Even another Rider; Super-One, who Kei was engaging for some reason or another, with Marilen’s help.
Kaido was stopped when something hard hit him. Kiriha span around to see a man in a black and tan suit, like a raven, but with bladed claws, wings out his back with a small generator to create flight, and a beaked mask. He looked back to Kiriha, but Kaido grabbed him.
“Run!” he shouted, “I’ll stop Raven!”
Kiriha nodded and kept running down the corridor, leaving Kaido to engage this new Kaizo Ningen.
Katsumi Daidou, Yuki Joji, Shigeru Jo, Raiden Yamashiro, Yuriko Misaki. Where were they? They were the allies he wasn’t as sure about. Marilen trusted Daidou, he had chosen Joji, Raiden had something planned, he was sure of that. But they were useful, powerful allies. Allies he desperately needed.
Kiriha slowed when he saw Jerome and Tsubasa ahead, being bashed around by ZX; Eden. The man looked at Kiriha and pointed his sword to him, “Good, the leader. I’ll take off the head, then.”
Kiriha drew his arms up, “He’s not like before,” he muttered. He ran forward, as did ZX. At the last moment Kiriha span to the side to avoid the thrust of the sword, throwing a knee up and striking him. He pushed back with the leg while grabbing the arm and flipping Eden forward.
Eden hit the ground and span back up, kicking Kiriha in the side. He stumbled back and danced to the side to avoid the blade. He kicked up, relieving his hand of the weapon. He span around to slam the back of his forearm into the back of Eden’s helmet, knocking it off.
Eden span around and kicked Kiriha hard in the chest, driving the breath from him. He hit the wall and took a hard punch to the chest before taking another to the head, losing his helmet. They both punched at the same time, their fists colliding, stopping.
Both pushed away and threw punches, but both dodged easily. Kiriha span around and kicked behind, using a mule kick to throw Eden back. Kiriha span around and ran forward, jumping for Eden, throwing a Rider Punch down, just missing the head.
“You’re not that weak,” Eden hissed, “Why not kill me?”
“Because I lost those who could lead me,” Kiriha said, “I won’t hesitate to kill you, if you refuse to lead me.”
“Where?” he demanded, “To Father?”
“Yes,” he said, “Or I kill you.”
“You’ve already managed to sway enough of my brethren and allies. They must see something in your group…I’ll show you the way.”
“You would betray your father that easily?” Kiriha demanded.
“He jumps into my head. I don’t like it anymore,” Eden said, picking himself up, “Now, follow me, Ichigo. I’ll take you to him.”
“Jerome! Tsubasa!” Kiriha shouted back, “Get up and let’s go!”
The four Riders hurried farther into the base. This would be the end; the final battle, if Kiriha could help it.
He didn’t intend to leave the Great Leader alive. Or for himself to stay alive, unfortunately. They were both meant to die today. If nothing else, maybe Natsumi could find solace in that.
