Rider Stuff
Name:
Henshin Device/Sequence:
Forms:
- Form Name: Default form
Appearance: Her form without any kind of transformation.
Transformation: None.
Weapons and Abilities:- Illusions: Shorud has the ability to cast various illusions, a power that isn't Gaiamemory-related. Normally, it is difficult to look directly at Shroud, as bright light-bloom appears around her. She can conceal herself from sight, seeming to appear and disappear at will, and do the same for objects. In addition, she can conjure up illusory flames that seem to give off heat, useful for covering an escape or just for drama.
- Shroud Magnum: A red-coloured version of the Trigger Magnum that exists outside of henshin. it fires small red bursts of energy.
Finisher(s):'Bomb' Maximum Drive: Using the Bomb Memory in the Shroud Magnum, Shroud shoots a sphere of energy which splits into several smaller spheres. These surround the target before exploding. - Form Name: Kamen Rider Xtreme
Appearance: An iridescent white armoured bodysuit, with red eyes and a subtle 'X' motif on the head. Since this is rarely used in combat, Shroud is prone to wearing her black fedora, scarf and occasionally coat over this.
Transformation: Shroud fixes a modified Lost Driver around her waist and inserts the T2 Xtreme Memory. Notably, she rarely assumes a pose or calls 'Henshin'.
Weapons and Abilities: Rather than for any fighting power, Shroud most often makes use of the Xtreme Memory for its other powers. Creating and refining GaiaMemories is much easier in this form, and in general it allows her to work around any lack of equipment. It can be used to allow her access to the Planet Library, but she only does so if she can be certain she won't be detected.
Finisher(s): 'Xtreme' Maximum Drive: Inserting the Xtreme Memory in the Shroud Magnum and firing it produces a wide, cone-shaped blast of greenish light [visually, think DiEnd's finisher]. In addition to causing some damage, this 'scrambles' GaiaMemories that it hits, rendering them unusable for an hour.
'Puppetteer' Maximum Drive: Inserting the Puppetteer Memory in the Maximum Slot enables her to exert control over a single opponent's movements.
Other Equipment:- Equipment to make both additional Lost Drivers, Double Drivers, and Drivers tuned for the use of specific Memories. Needless to say, this is a time-consuming process, and in the latter case requires extensive research. She rarely keeps many completed Drivers around but could lay her hands on a few at short notice.
- GaiaMemory research and refinement facilities. Shroud can produce 'false Memories' [for powering gadgets] fairly easily, and can make other Memories given time. She can refine almost any GaiaMemory into a Rider Memory or T2 Memory, but doesn't distribute T2 Memories to her beneficiaries as a method of control.
- Shroud has her own Stag Phone, a chunky mobile phone that can transform into a robotic stag beetle with the use of the Stag Memory. It can be attached to the Shroud Magnum for use in a Maximum Drive, creating two energy pincers to crush the target.
- A motorcycle of similar make to the Hardboilder/Skullboilder that doesn't have a specific name. Rarely used, since she prefers travelling in more low-key fashion.
- A Rider System she is currently working on that allows the user to transform using only artificial pseudo-Memories. If completed, it would be easier to mass-produce. Based on a modified version of the Spider Shock watch.
Inside Stuff
Personality: Shroud appears as a cold individual, thinking only of her objectives. She does not seem to care about the individuals she aids or others, thinking only of them as tools to further her goals. Shroud usually formulates plans that usually gets more people than just her objective people harmed. She does seem to care about her son, refusing to let him be used as a tool and convince him to find a better partnership with someone who can release his true powers as Double.
It is possible for Shroud to be swayed by others' strong feelings, and it's not impossible to convince her that one can fight for reasons other than revenge.
Strengths:- One of the foremost GaiaMemory experts.
- While she isn't very strong, Shroud's speed and reflexes are good enough to let her hold out in a fight.
- Very focused and driven; it's hard to dissuade her from a course of action, and few things frighten or shock her.
Weaknesses:- Physically weak, hence her preferred method of having others fight for her or using ranged attacks.
- Prone to using people as tools and getting them hurt.
- Believes in the power of rage and vengeance far more than positive emotions such as hope.
History:
As Fumine Sonozaki, Shroud acted as part of the Museum group, taking part in GaiaMemory research and helping to develop items such as the Gaia Drivers, and eventually, more refined Rider Memories and drivers. Her greatest achievement was overseeing the research that produced the T2 GaiaMemories. A childhood friend of Sokichi Narumi, she set up base under his detective agency, and provided him with equipment, after a falling-out with Museum. Following disagreement over how their son Raito would be treated after his transformation into a data being, her husband Ryubee used the powers of his Terror Dopant form to attack her, scarring her face. After this incident, she adopted her Shroud persona and disguise, developing various gadgets and Memory-based tools.
Originally working effectively as equals with Skull, following his death Shroud switched tactics, supplying Memories and Drivers to several individuals to use them as puppet Riders. Already enraged at Museum, Soukichi's death further affected her mental state, to the point where she no longer thinks anything of using people as pawns. Even in her support of the abandoned Mikan Sasaki, she made the girl earn her keep by fighting.
Since Museum's recent dissolution, Shroud has not ceased activities, and has instead switched her attention to the larger organisation the Museum remnants became a part of. It is likely Shroud will keep going until she feels vengeance has been achieved for Raito and Soukichi, or until all her rage is spent.
Anything Else: Still a work in progress, naturally.
Sample RP:
She strode back and forth between several work benches, boots tapping off the metal mesh floor. Something was missing, a small vital piece of data. The Memory could not be completed without it, and this didn't help Shroud's rising impatience.
She rifled through a drawer full of papers, checking the header of each before giving an annoyed 'tch' and moving on to the next. It figured there wasn't any clues lying around handy.
She stood, picking a Lost Driver from its shelf and clipping it around her waist. She preferred not to use such equipment as a 'safety net', but currently she saw little alternative.XTREME
She picked her hat off her head as the suit formed around her, replacing it on her helmet, mimicking Soukichi's old habit. She placed her hands around the half-finished Memory on the workbench, watching green strings of data flash past her eyes.
The connection to the Library coulnd't rival those who had the ability naturally, but it sufficed. Shroud was dimly aware of other minds, linked to the library, noticing her intrusion. She worked quickly, pulling strings of data around her fingers, working some into the Memory and discarding others. Pushing the last strand into place, she broke the connection and closed her Driver.
The Memory sat before her, shining and new, a few arcs of energy dancing about it. A pale blue glow faded into a stylised design of a key on the label.
