They went into the first empty room they found. Kaido laid down while Kei crouched over him, peeling the armor aside and working surgically with only his hands.

"I was General Wolf, of Vector," Kaido started out, "I was supposed to stop Kei, after he decided to betray us, and after the Great Leader lost control of him..."
"He didn't," Kei said, "We're friends, after all."
"I...was mortally wounded in buying him time, and...he wouldn't leave me, like I told him."

"Was I to leave my friend to die?" he asked, then answered, "I don't know what happened. I just...blacked out, then felt your sword in me."
He continued to work on Kaido's body, working on the mechanical portions, "Good thing I wasn't modified with nanomachines...," he muttered.

"There are two conversion methods," Kei said, "What all of us thus far in this group have...normal modifications, so we have mechanical parts inside of us. Or nanomachines, which are being tested. Put in via IV, or another means, they convert from within the body, and circulate through the body, in order to give the Kaizo Ningen range of abilities."
"Thus far, it doesn't quite work with senses," Kaido put in. "I was General Wolf; nanomachines wouldn't work."
