His stingers were blasted aside. He swung up and parried as he dodged aside.

Stingrai died swiftly.
Riley remained on the ground nearby, her shirt torn up in back from the stingers, unconscious. She would be filled with pain, if she were awake.

She remained slumped in his arms, shivering with the fluids in her body from the stings.

Once more, fragments would remain with her. She started to shake some more as the injected poisons did more damage.
