An underground chamber, well lit, gray. Computer monitors hung around the lower ceilings, giving out details to those needing them. There were other computers situated in a side room with bulletproof glass, looking in. A command center, of sorts, where the computer work was done, and meetings of high importance were taken care of.
There were also side rooms for training, rooms where weaponry was stored, training facilities, and elevators to go to other levels with training facilities, sleeping quarters and the like spread around.
A man sat behind a desk with a holographic display emerging, showing details of Smart Brain's headquarters in Chicago. The older man, Vincent, the leader of Section, was speaking to his four assembled younger assassins.
"All four 'Guardians' will be dispatched to Chicago. We believe we have found an Orphnoch base there." Vincent said, "We believe we will need everything we have to bring them down."
"Who else will be sent?" Simon-Vega-questioned.
"A team of fifty men, all armed with Gaia Memory weaponry." Vincent said, "Now, Simon, you and Jared will go in first, using your firearms."
"What about me?" William-Scissors-questioned.
"You will go inside through the Mirror World." Vincent replied, "Finally, Eugene, use the strength of Riki to go in with the strike team and eliminate any Orphnochs trying to escape."
Eugene nodded, "Permission to kill our own men in the crossfire?"
Vincent didn't hesitate, "Kill them if there's no alternative. If they get in your way of a kill, then eliminate them."
"Sir, how did we come across this intel?" Simon questioned.
Vincent rose, his hands clasped behind his back, "Remember that man we picked up some time ago?"
He didn't need to give specifics. It was simple to determine who he meant. A man in his thirties who looked older from stress and from lack of grooming. Heavy set, with bandages on his face and hands, tape around his glasses. He was pathetic, but caring. If people gave him a chance, his simple minded ways would charm them over, make them really care about him.
His sister had a mental illness of some sort, none of Section cared what. They had gotten information from him when he had been near Smart Brain one day and had seen an Orphnoch transform inside. Section picked them both up, since he wouldn't speak without his sister present, knowing she was ok. He did everything for her, working any job for her so he could keep paying for her bills, since the state wouldn't pick up the entire tab.
"So, we have all we need?" Eugene questioned.
Vincent nodded, "Yes. He has given us everything." He walked out with the four 'Guardians' behind him. They walked into a small, white room. The man stood there, entertaining his sister. Both of them were happy.
They hadn't heard Vincent enter. The other four waited outside, watching through a monitor. They watched as Vincent walked up behind the two of them, pulled his normal handgun, and mercilessly fired two shots, executing both of them in cold blood.
Why? Because they knew of Section. That was why they had to die.
"Go." Vincent said, looking at the camera with no remorse, "Get your team together and move out within the hour."
The four men saluted and departed.
