Shane sat in his room, getting ready mentally to go to dinner...he was a little nervous, wanting to keep in good favor in this place...and thinking a bit about those eyes...

Finally he stood up, having his Ninja uniform clean and in order, and looking very good otherwise before nodding. "Alright, here goes." he said to himself, and walked towards the dining area, passing Kuroko on the way.

Kaoru's thoughts drifted back toward Shane for a moment... And it was only a moment, for a chibi-Kaoru in her head was chasing off those thoughts with a Rekka Daizantou the size of the one ShinkenGokai-Oh uses.

Then the feelings would fight back just a little, and the reason for that was apparent as the object of said feelings walked into the dining area. "Sorry I'm late." he said apologetically as he paused for a moment, not sure of his seating arrangement.

The feelings would be hard to hit though and ever nagging.
Shane nods and sits next to Kaoru without a word. Then a Kuroko came to present Kaoru's food, which looked to be nice...but slipped and almost dumped it on her. But with his superior ninja reflexes, Shane leaned over in front of her and caught the plate, setting it upright again before setting it in front of her and sitting back in his previous position.

Kaoru's face tinged pink for a moment before she shook her head quickly. Luckily Shane didn't notice. Meanwhile, Chibi-Kaoru was trying all her might to cut those feelings, now weilding a second Rekka.

"You weren't kidding when you said the Kuroko were mistake-prone." Shane said, not having noticed. He did find himself however looking at Kaoru through his peripheral vision...whether intentionally or not he didn't notice.
The feelings stopped for a moment and asked her mind a single question. "Why not?" before streaking out of the way of a double Rekka cut

Because it's a distraction, was her answer as Chibi-Kaoru continued to attempt to cut down those unnecessary feelings.

Shane shrugged a bit, Kaoru seemed to be spacing out, so he merely ate quietly. Then an unnecessary thought came to him as well about seeing how Kaoru would be in one of the state fairs back home.
