After the waiter left, Kiriha commented with a smile, "I'm sure any of the others in med school would kill to date a model." He couldn't help but smile a bit more at that, "But then again, that's out of wanting only to say they have; they wouldn't care about finding a good woman. Well, most of them."

The meal was brought to both of them, and Natsumi thanked the waiter. Then she looked at Kiriha, "So how was your life before medical school?" she asked, interested but also a little awkward.

"My family was well off; I had anything I wanted," he told her, "I let that get to me; living out an ideal life of doing whatever I wanted. However...I went to medical school because I had an incurable disease; I was dying, and nobody could do anything about it. I decided to finally take responsibility for myself and see what I could do.
"Being modified saved my life."
