"Well, I wanted to be here in case he messes up. I have a feeling that he will."

"Why do you think I'm outside?" Hikaru asked, nodding.
"Hikaru! I need some things from out there!" Nago was calling from inside.
Hikaru turned to Mary, "You want to see what he needs? Should surprise him that you're already here."

Nago turned back just after she had spoken and left, "Mary?" He went to the door.
Hikaru started to get the things that Nago wanted, "Probably assumed it was me," Hikaru said, "And was too transfixed on trying to make...whatever it is he's trying."

Nago came outside, "Mary...you're here early," he said.
Hikaru decided to get to the ingredients, rather than watch the two of them.

He walked closer and gave her a kiss on the cheek, "Can't say I'm disappointed by this surprise."

"Didn't think you would be. Now... shouldn't you not leave the food unattended?" she asked, semi-teasingly. Of course, this was a valid point.

He had only made a little so far, as he was waiting on the garden ingredients, he put a hand to her cheek, "You raise a good point. Soon I'll be back for you."
