Ryotarou could only stare at the flickering and fading ticket as a few grains of sand fell off. Time was changing and the past of the future in that card was changing with it.
It had taken place a decade into the future.
For a moment the date flickered and changed to a date merely weeks later before the card bent and a sheet of sand crumbled off.
He felt sick. He brushed the sand to the ground and sipped his coffee as he returned to the life in the cafe.

Sakura was currently off duty and she was merely wandering around Tokyo, she had her BraceThrottle hidden underneath her clothes so that she could transform into Dekabreak at a moment's notice. She then saw a cafe and thought to herself, 'this looks like a nice cafe...I'll have a crack at it' she then went inside and asked for a coffee.

The door would open and a woman would step through, with a pack on her back that she set down to the side of the door, and removed her brown leather jacket, hanging it on a coat hanger, letting her white t-shirt and black scarf complement her blue jeans and boots this time.
She walked up to the counter and sat down on one of the chairs, and looked around a little before also asking for a coffee.

"Izeekel, quiet, please," Yuuga said as they neared the cafe, "I just slew a few Horrors, I think I deserve a small break."
"Fine," his earring spoke to the Makai Knight, "I'll be quiet. But we don't have much time before your next bit of training begins."
Yuuga walked in and took a seat.

The coffee he had wasn't one of the ridiculously creamed up ones on the DenLiner and Ryotarou was glad, though he'd never tell Naomi that. He glanced up at the new arrivals and quickly averted his gaze.
Would the world end that soon? The card in his hands let out a plume of sand and seeped through Ryotarou's fingers.
A new future to look foward to, great.
"The world's changing already." He muttered bitterly.

Sakura saw the sand and she cocked her head to one side as she drank her coffee, how could sand flow through a card? It was logically impossible...then she heard Ryotarou muttered something and she cocked her head to the other side, "Ano..." she asked cautiously, "isn't change a good thing?"

"It is, I suppose." Ryotarou shrugged, still staring at his mug. He looked up at Sakura. "But it all depends on how it changes."

"Say a war was destined to come." He started not-so-subtly. "If the war was delayed by ten years, it might sound good but we might be fighting and killing each other before it comes, making sure that the war doesn't come because we've all killed each other." He thought for a moment. "If it happens tomorrow, the world might be unprepared but it would have enough unity to lessen the casaulties." He paused for a moment. "Change is a sensitive thing."

Sakura cocked her head side to side, "So you're stuck in a dilemma? Delay the war and the world will be prepared but you'll rack up a lot of corpses" gesturing with one hand out then with the other hand, "or...start the war now and you'll have less casualty but the world will be unprepared. However can I say this? If we do the second option wouldn't there be a lot more casualty because the world isn't prepared? Even with unity if we're not prepared then a lot of people will be put off guard and that'll amount to more casualty than if you did the first one."

"Remember what happened in London?" Ryotarou asked. "The death rate was high but we fought back and saved the day. Compare that to the billions that survived, thanks to us because the situation couldn't spread. What if this war was able to wipe out humanity? We adapt fast, when we need to we're primitive. We fight back. And maybe the world is prepared already, just not that they know it. Maybe that decade later we've all exhausted ourselves and can't fight that war." He stopped again.
"There are so many things that matter, but can be irrelevant. We're always changing, maybe if that war was delayed just one more day we would win. I'm probably not making much sense right now." He chuckled and his cup suddenly fell over onto his lap, spilling the contents.

"Oh are you okay?" Sakura asked as she cleaned up after the spilt coffee, "you seem to be a visionary" Sakura commented.

Rei narrowed her eyes at these words, the Evoltruster had not pulsed, but her human intuition had something to say in her mind about this man...now she sipped her coffee a bit, watching the movements of the other girl and the man behind the counter.
"A visionary with a troubled heart, maybe." she said softly, just loud enough to be heard but not very loud.

Yuuga leaned back, "Boy, you are an interesting man," he said from a few tables over, "What are you, anyway? You don't seem like a normal man."

"Not really, I'm just..." He supressed the reply of 'on the verge of being morbidly depressed'. "I just have a bit of bad luck, that's all." He winced in reply to Yuuga as he wiped away the spilt liquid.
