Kyle opened the tiny little box again and smiled to himself. He was extremely nervous about doing this but who knows, she might say yes.
He closed the box and put it back in his jacket pocket.
"Nakida?" He called "We're gonna be late, come on,"

"Sorry!" Nakida shouted back as she ran down the stairs. She stumbled halfway througn and slid down a few before she managed to get on her feet. She tried to get a look behind her but with no luck she just crossed her fingers and bounded over to Cross.

Cross smiled and followed her inside.
He was really going to do this wasn't he ... cr*p. He just had to remember what his father had told him when he turned sixteen.
