Simon just shrugged. "Well, I dunno how it is for you, buddy. But getting this belt is the best thing that's ever happened to me." He grinned. "Excitement, action, and fame, all while saving lives and making something useful outta myself. What more could I possibly want?"

Simon shrugged. "Eh. I guess I could. I dunno, I'm pretty sure I'm too awesome to die." He grinned. "And if I do... well, oh well. I don't have anything much to stick around for, and at least I went out fighting. Maybe if I'm lucky it'll be an awesome heroic death and I'll get a big statue of myself in some big city somewhere. That'd rock."

"Not to you it's not." Simon said, cooly. "You've got something to care about, probably. A family. Friends. A life. I dunno, I don't really know you. But you've probably got something to live for, right? Something to fight for?" He took a long sip of his beer; when he lowered the bottle, his signature smile was missing. His face held unusual thoughtfulness and solemnity. "I don't. My life's been pretty much a waste of time. Bein' a Kamen Rider's the first thing in my life that's ever meant anything. Do you know what that's like? No, of course you don't. It's the biggest rush in the world." He gave Suzie a long, hard stare. "Just because I don't care if I die, doesn't mean I'm not serious. It just means that I don't care." He gave a heavy sigh and tried to take another swig. The bottle was empty. He swore under his breath and got another beer. His back turned, he opened it and took another swig. When he turned around, he was smiling again. "Enough about me." He said cheerfully. "Your turn! What's your story?"
(woah, long post. Sorry. Who knew Simon was so emo?)

"I picked something up off the street and was threatened by a terrorist group to give it back and when I didn't they killed my family, emailed me the videos of them shooting them execution style in my living room and replaced them with violent alien insects so they wouldn't get suspicious!" Suzie answered, seething with anger "You think having nothing's bad? Try having everything and then losing it because you thought "finders-keepers" was a legitimate rule to live by!"
This wasn't a competition but she was definitely winning.

Simon's face went blank again. "I'm not competing, Suzie. I never said my life was worse than anyone else's. Just a waste." He gulped down more beer. He really needed to slow down, he thought at the back of his mind. Now was not the time to get wasted. "You should be happy that you had what you had, for however long." He heaved a heavy sigh. "Alright, enough angst. We keep going like this I'm gonna end up drunk, and nobody wants to see that." He put the beer down on the counter. "Look, Suzie, you don't have to like me, or my motivations. 'M not gonna ask you to just magically change your opinion of me. But do ya' think we can at least work together?" He extended a hand to her, to shake.

Suzie glared at his hand coldly and then looked away for a split-second. She was being stubborn, and petty, and childish and that's what got her the zecter in the first place.
"Fine," She sighed extending her own hand. "Sorry if I'm being a bitch,"

Once again displaying a remarkable capacity for mood swings, Simon was all smiles again as he shook her hand with a firm grip before letting go. "It's fine!" He said, cheerfully. "We all need to vent every once in a while, even me." He chuckled. "Just to show you there's no hard feelings, why don't I buy you guys some lunch?"
