Civvie Stuff
Name: Kyo Jyuoku
Age: 23
Sex: Male
Nationality: Japanese
Occupation: Mechanic
Species: Gigaran Cyborg, there are only a few differences between Shocker Cyborgs and Gigaran cyborgs. But they are worth mentioning
- The transformation sequence is caused by a strange crystal produced by the Gigarans that allows Kyo to power nano-machine implants in his skin and blood causing the transformation.
- The Gigaran Cyborgs are designed stronger and faster, but are far easier to damage (especially in Giga's case as he has seen a lot of wear and tear) and weigh more in human form, normally around 6 stone heavier than they would be without the cybernetics.
- As they use alien technology that was designed for a different species, the individual cyborgs are often more custom-made to the person rather than to fill a function in order to minimise rejection, so Kyo's modifications were made with him in mind (something Shocker doesn't always abide by).
- In terms of the actual cybernetics used, the inside is vastly different and barely even comparable to Earth technology, but the end result is a cyborg, much like the ones created by Shocker. The differences these make are mainly that Kyo is more machine than human, even his blood is now a liquidated Nanomachine mess and his body no longer emits heat of any kind making him invisible to thermal vision. But, as a consequence, his body can be affected negatively by extreme cold (i.e. his body will become less responsive)
- The cybernetics inside of him are more active in his human form giving him a slightly greater level of strength at the cost of his greater weight.
Celebrity Claim: Whoever that guy is in the picture this guy
Hair color/style: Kyo's got black hair, kept trimmed by himself so it's generally uneven and slightly too long, hence his frequently hat wearing.
Eyes: Kyo's eyes are brown, but a distinctive green circle lies around the iris as a result of his modifications.
Description:
Kyo's normal appearance is that of a young Japanese man with short cut black hair swept back and normally concealed by his wearing of a bright yellow beanie style hat . He's got a fairly athletic build, reflecting his interests and his frequent exercise before he took his modifications and as a result he looks far weaker than he actually is. His normal clothing is a thick jacket with white stripes down the sleeves and a pair of slightly oil stained jeans with black and yellow streaked boots. The only thing of note is that he nearly always carries a small charm tied to a cord on his wrist, a small silver bell, given to him by a dear friend. He has the air of a martial artist surrounding him, mostly because of his history.
Rider Stuff
Name: Kamen Rider Giga
Henshin Device/Sequence: Giga's belt, powered by a gem called the Dusk Shard. While he can transform sheerly by willing it, Kyo tends to summon the belt and strike a pose, one fist with his left arm extended up to the right and his right palm shoved forward, after shouting 'Giiiiga' he brings the left arm round to his side and switches arms quickly so his left palm is forward and right fist drawn back in a stylised karate stance while shouting 'HENSHIN'.
Forms:
- Form Name: Human form
Appearance: Kyo's normal human appearance, nothing strange about this.
Transformation: By reverting from one of his other two forms. Normally achieved by a soft green light as his transformation ends. This is his default state so he is nearly always in it.
Weapons and Abilities:
Body of a Cyborg- Kyo's strength and speed are superior to a normal human's, even when he isn't fighting as Kamen Rider making him more than a match for a normal Shocker grunt. He doesn't have a great deal of power in this form though, so for Kaijin he normally has to transform but he is least likely to damage himself in this form.
Repair- While it requires a reasonable amount of time to perform, using a device called the Gigaran Omni-Tool, Giga can repair himself to fix damage sustained in battle. It takes a good amount of time to be used though, normally around an hour for every limb. The nanomachines that make up his blood allow him to repair himself automatically but this takes even longer, normally around 4 hours to seal a deepish cut.
Giga Sensor- An ability that functions only in his human state, allowing him to sense Kaijin transformations by a wavelength they emit. He uses it to try and track enemy Kaijin. It's only effective in a mile radius. After he transforms it becomes nearly useless as his own wavelength mutes it.
Omni-Lingual- Something Kyo didn't know he needed, but he can understand just about any terrestrial language and translate it with a degree of exactness. He does tend to 'round up' meanings occasionally, which has lead to accidents.
Finisher(s): 'Rider Kick'- Not a true kick, but if he needs to hit someone hard Kyo will normally use a flying kick and shout the name for the hell of it. - Form Name: Rider Form
Appearance: Kamen Rider Giga is comparitively slim compared to the heavier armoured suits worn by most of the Heisei Riders and is predominantly green in colour due to the Gigarans own natural skin colour being dark green. He has prominent red eye pieces and a wraparound piece of red for his scarf, a personal touch but one he feels neccessary to remember where he comes from. The belt itself is quite small and dark red in colour, normally hidden within his body, it materialises out of nano-machines and is the main control centre for his powers. The animal motif is a Grasshopper.
Transformation: The sequence mentioned above, but once his left palm is forward, green flame like energy pours from it and spreads over his whole body. Once he's completely engulfed, the energy disapears as a sphere of electrical power radiates from Giga's body and reveals the cyborg inside.
Weapons and Abilities:
Power Modulation- Giga's main power, the ability to rapidly increase the power out-put of a certain area of his cyborg body. This is usually done as a means of attacking, by having a sudden exponential boost to an attacking body part. This is the method used to execute his Rider Punch and Rider Kick abilities. In other words, if Giga's base power level is 6, he can reach up to 10 for bursts of time through certain body parts. He tries to limit this as over exertion leads to him damaging parts. There are a number of ways to use this power, but he always prefixes the move with 'Rider' as a means of telling when he's using extra strength. His standard uses are Rider Punch, Rider Jump, Rider Striking (a series of punches) and his Rider Kick. When he uses this ability the green crystal in his belt flashes.
Force Shock- Giga increases his power for a short time in order to create a small sonic boom in the air in front of him. The effect is to disrupt the air so that bullets fired at him or other attacks will be stopped. While it can be used as an attack, it has a very low reach and is only effective when up close and personal. From point blank it can severely incapacitate the unwary, though it's unlikely to be lethal. In terms of projectiles, however, it is very useful for stopping them. It is generally used defensively unless the situation is dire.
Advanced Combat training- Giga has seen a lot of battles with enemy Kaijin, and while he can't be ready for anything, he's extremely used to fighting against a variety of opponents so he can hold his own quite well against most enemies. This is especially true in his Rider form as he's very used to fighting in it. This ability is also transferable, if Kyo teaches someone of a similar type how to fight they can get stronger.
Enhanced Speed- Giga is notable for being an exceptionally agile and fast Cyborg, due to his Gigaran design which makes him less endurable but a lot faster. His reflexes are likewise heightened. So while he still takes mild damage from a bullet, he is able to dodge them. It is possible to enhance his speed with his power modulation ability but it's particularly risky as the odds this will damage something in him is near 100%.
Finisher(s): Using power modulation, any attack could be a finisher, though it's predominantly a Rider Kick. - Form Name: Ultra Drive (to be unlocked)
Appearance: The same as his Rider form only emanating purple flames and with a menacing air around it, due to it's increased power.
Transformation: Kyo's unaware he has this state but if his emotions reach feverpitch and he feels the ultimate drive to protect or destroy this form is unleashed.
Weapons and Abilities:
Primarily the same as his Rider form but dialed up to 11, he does have one different ability.
Auto-Repair - Giga will regenerate injuries in a matter of seconds, the purple flames seems to be some sign his body is functioning far past it's usual peak but this is worrying as it means he could well burn out if he isn't careful.
This form is generally inaccessible but given enough motivation, it drastically increases Kyo's abilities. The cost, and what other powers it may hold, are still unknown to the young man...
Finisher(s): Same as his Rider form, can be anything, but more likely to be a Rider Punch than anything else
Other Equipment:
- Gigaran Omni-Tool- A neat little wand that allows Kyo to repair his body when it breaks down, as is the way with Gigaran Cyborgs. It bears a resemblance to a Sonic Screwdriver, but a basic one.
- Cyclone Starter (Mk 2)- Kyo's motorcycle, a Honda CBR1000RR spray-painted dark green with red accents. Like his suit.
Inside Stuff
Personality:
Kyo has suffered a great deal in his life, and he has in the past given up on trying to save people but after his recent experiences he has suffered a renewed urge to fight for the people of the past to keep them from losing hope. His training in martial arts has made him disciplined enough to restrain himself against normal opponents and his work at university has given him the flexible thinking required to beat most opponents using his limited skill-set of powers. He tends to act slightly aloof and has a tendency to cynically deride whatever events are occuring around him on the basis he's lived through far worse situations. He has respect for anyone willing to percivere or try to solve their own problems, and he's been quoted as saying this is his favourite type of person. He also thinks that his rider form should be a last resort and won't transform if he thinks he can win in his human state. He's also annoyed by persistant rumours that he's an alien bounty hunter. While he has confessed that he's naive and that his way might get him killed, he refuses to backdown. He has a weakspot for children and has a very personal interest in beating Shocker, even if it may risk wiping himself from existence.
Strengths:
- Determination- Kyo has willpower like you wouldn't believe, a trait he shares with a lot of early Riders, he will often force himself to move beyond his bodies limits because he sees no other way to succeed. Of course this is also a downside, in some ways, but let's think positively.
- Mechanic- Kyo is also a weirdly talented mechanic, which he attributes to being pre-dominantly machine himself. A more complicated one at that.
- Martial Artist- Kyo trained day and night when he was human, he's only tried harder since his upgrade so his skill is now super-human even WITHOUT the upgrades.
Weaknesses:
- Social Graces- Kyo's from the future, which means he has a tendency to take certain things for granted. Shouting at the coffee machine for 3 minutes tends to draw attention, so he's still working on fitting in. He's better now than he was before. He also has to explain his broken limbs and why they mend in hours.
- Pessimist- Maybe it's his past, but Kyo's a slightly depressing person. He's occasionally wracked with self doubt, which is only held in check by his collossal determination. It also means he'll assume the worst in most situations until proven otherwise.
- Bad Luck- Kyo has unbelievably bad luck. When it comes to gambling he may as well give the opponent his money before he even starts.
- Cold- This is actually a weakness for his combat abilities AND social abilities. He doesn't generate much heat meaning he's normally at room temperature. In cold environments it's obvious how cold he is, as well as comfortable he is DESPITE being so cold. But if he tries to move, well, he'll find he's suddenly slower than he remembered...
History:
Kyo Jyuoku was born into a world of oppression, The forces of Shocker had been victorious and so the world had fallen into darkness. Wild Rider Corps had been the last stand, until it too had fallen. This future's last hero, Kamen Rider Omega, otherwise known as Kazuma Jyuoku, had been lost in battle. Kyo's father always told him that he'd been killed, dying heroically to try and save the world from Shocker's evil. Kyo took these stories to heart and throughout his life, always tried to stand in the way of Shocker as best a simple human could. He studied hard so he could understand his enemy, gained a degree in Archaeology so that he could excavate previous sites where the heroes of humanity had fought Shocker and, most importantly of all, faked his shots with Shocker's Nano-machines to avoid being given orders through them.
It was almost 3 years ago that Shocker first found signs of alien life. On the planet Gigara they met the Gigara-jin or Gigarans and began their first full-scale campaign. The Gigarans were masters of advanced technology and their cybernetic modifications allowed them all increased strength, but it was nothing compared to the Shocker cyborgs. The Gigarans bodies' were too weak to support the full operation procedure. What they needed was a human whose body could support the operations and become stronger than any preceeding Cyborgs. This is where Kyo came in. Seeking to avenge his brother, he underwent the operation and became a modified human working for the Gigarans to aid them in their war effort. Ressurected, Kyo became Kamen Rider Giga, following in his brother's footsteps he became a hero for both humanity and the Gigarans.
While exploring his abilities, Kyo had his brother's old motorcycle converted into the CycloneStarter and began to learn to ride the motorcycle of his brother. Eventually, after countless battles, Kyo came face to face with the leader of Shocker. The remains of humanity behind him and watching as their new hero confronted the glorious leader. The Great Leader of the future was a withered old man, idly toying with a chess piece so obliterated by time it was impossible to tell what it was originally. As he approached, Kyo was suddenly attacked by a second figure. Dodging and moving out of the way, he transformed and was shocked to see the opponent perform the same movements. As he changed he saw the enemy change too, into Kamen Rider Omega.
The words of his father rang hollow in his ears, his brother wasn't dead. He was instead standing besides the hated creature who ruled his world with an iron fist. His brother approached the crowd while Kyo was still reeling and shouted to them
"Humanity! This is your chance, all you have left to oppose your freedom is one old man. Will any of you step up? Who will fight for your freedom?"
There was silence. The assembled crowds shuffled awkwardly as Kyo looked on in shock. Omega turned to his brother
"Do you see now? They looked to me once and now they turn to you. They don't want to change this, they don't want a hero, they just want a martyr! A statue to look up to! They don't want hope, they want deceit!" Kyo felt his chest rumble as a boot collided with his side and sent him tumbling down into the destroyed remains of Tokyo. He stumbled to his feet in time to avoid the crushing boots of his brother landing besides him.
He was going to have to fight him, like it or not.
Their battle raged for hours, fist meeting fist, kick deflecting kick, the fight was never-ending. Kyo had fought so hard, he'd beaten countless Shocker cyborgs with irreversible brain-washing and yet he knew. His brother wasn't brainwashed. These were his true thoughts, he didn't betray the humans, in his mind they have betrayed him. It was time for the final blow... Both warriors leapt to the air, the ground beneath cracking from the force as their powers surged.
"Riiiider..." the voices sounded almost the same, almost a stereo, "PUNCH!"
The blows collided in a shower of blue and green but when the dust cleared only one was standing. Kamen Rider Giga.
Kneeling by his brother, Kyo heard him speak with his true voice for the first and last time
"Little brother... I'm sorry. Not for my actions. But that you will never... be treated with the respect and honour... you deserve". Slowly, Kazuma Jyuoku closed his eyes for the last time. And Kyo felt some part of his heart break. He removed his helmet, exposing his identity for the first time, and began walking through the crowd. He heard the humans thank him. They said how he had saved their lives. But he felt nothing for them. He left with the Gigarans, left the humans to their own devices. The Great Leader of Shocker? He didn't know if he could defeat him, but even if he could... should he?
Kyo was inconsolable, the Gigarans cared for him as best they could but even they couldn't stay safe forever. Because of his abandonment of Earth, Shocker became even stronger and finally attacked Gigara. Kyo fought bravely, tried to turn back the tide of battle but in the end, was lost to the sea of cyborgs. His last memory is strange to him, it's of a human. He can't see her clearly, his eyes had been damaged, she's fighting the cyborgs and has a strange gun. She looks at it, to him in his broken heap and nods. She blasts him with the strange device and everything goes white.
Regaining consciousness, Kyo found himself in a strange location. It looked like a park, but there were no guards... no sign of Shocker's forces. Looking at a discarded newspaper he saw the year, he had somehow been hurled years into the past! He had no idea how they had managed it, but he was in the past. He took a moment to embrace the truth that Gigara was almost certainly destroyed. But he'd been saved by a human. At the cost of her own life, that girl had saved him, sent him back in time so he would be spared. He clenched his fists tightly, realising how wrong he had been. To reject the humans, to assume they'd never fight on their own. But this was his chance. He would end Shocker here, in this time, to ensure the future stayed free of the darkness.
Getting a job at a motorcycle shop, Kyo now tries to alter the future and comes to terms with the fact history is already stranger than he remembered.
Anything Else: Not that I can think of
Sample RP:
Kyo was sitting at his desk when he heard the first alarm bells ringing. The siren echoed through the streets as he heard the Gigarans frantic whispering, he knew what this meant. Shocker was here. Standing up sharply, he ran to the stairs and leapt, landing with a crunch on the floor below. Barreling outside, he saw the slim green figure of a Gigaran locked in combat with a black clad Sentouin. Growling, Kyo stormed forward and caught the Sendoin's fist moments before he struck the Gigaran a lethal blow
"Ee?"
The Shocker soldier had enough time for one confused noise before he felt a blow slam into his ribs. A loud crack sounded as the machinery inside broke. Kyo leapt, spinning, and kicked the Sentouin flying backwards into a pile of rubble
"Are you alright?"
"Jyuoku" the Gigaran wheezed "You have to stop them..." Kyo held the Gigaran's hand. Everyone deserved to have someone there with you as you died. When his last breath was gone, Kyo let him go and felt a familiar rumble as his belt appeared. Swinging one arm up and one forward he said
"Giiiiga HENSHIN!" The green flames engulfed him as he transformed. Taking less than a second, he dived forward into the fray.
The smell of oil filled his nose as he felt each Cyborg fall beneath his assault, he'd broken parts of his body he didn't know were breakable. But he fought on, he had to save Gigara. At the back of his mind, a nagging thought kept telling him that if he'd defeated Shocker when he had the chance. If he hadn't given up on people, this never would've happened. Why had they let him leave? Why did the Gigarans have to be so damn understanding!? Kyo felt a fist, or claw or fin hit his head and he was suddenly on the ground. Was this it? Was this really how the Gigarans world ended. Their last line of defence defeated by an army of Kaijin?
He could see something as he faded, long hair, slim build. A girl? A woman? Definitely female. Definitely Human. He wondered what they were doing here, one last ditch effort to bring him back to fight their battles for him? It was a little late for that. She had some kind of gun, but she was pointing it at him. He tried to say something, a croak, but suddenly everything was bright white and he found himself lying in a broken heap underneath a bridge. Hauling what he could under a bush, Kyo felt the nanomachines in his blood start to work. He was repairing. But all this green. Where was he? He tried to work it out but the stress of battle finally beat him as he blacked out...
